Not very impressive as a pop-up book; better for older children.
I bought this as a potential gift for my three-years-old grandson, but I've not yet given it to him as I think he's a bit young for it. The book comprises details of various trains from around the world, mainly illustrated with lift-up flaps revealing internal details of engines and carriages. The pop-ups are very rudimentary, with the exception of the multi-tiered station at the end of the book, but even here the 'action' consists of pulling out trains just a couple of inches with the rails. Some may feel this description doesn't do the book justice, but having been delighted with other pop-up work from Robert Crowther, this book seems very pedestrian, a bit technical (therefore not for very young children), and — essentially — dull. I really can't picture my grandson coming back to it after he's once been through it.

Beautiful book
Beautiful book with lots of interactive features for young hands. My son absolutely loves this book but be warned the book is about American trains. He was a little taken aback by this but it has just made him investigate American trains now.
