Silentnight Mirapocket 2000 Deluxe Box Top Mattress, King

We deliberated for ages before buying this mattress. It’s hard to read between the lines of reviews but we’re glad we checked the reviews on this one. It’s very comfortable but still offers firm support at the same time. Definitely NOT a soft mattress and yet it’s probably the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on. Worth every penny! The delivery service which was provided by ArrowXL was excellent and they kept us well informed every step of the way.

Initial issues with courier who cancelled the set delivery day, which I had taken a day off work for. Re arranged for next day so 2 days holiday taken. Product is comfortable and similar to that of a hotel quality mattress, bit hard at 1st but soon got used to it.

This one is a difficult one to review as the mattress itself is very well made and clearly of a decent quality, but although marketed as "soft" (including on Silentnight website itself - and other sites medium-soft - I did my groundwork before parting with this amount of money), there is NO WAY this mattress can have a firmness rating of soft or even medium-soft! No way at all! This mattress is a firm, or at the very least a very firm "medium-firm ". It is NOT soft!! Also it is very "tall" - a very thick depth, which I would have LOVED had it been soft as advertised. Put it this way, although I have a back problem which means I would not be in a good way sleeping on a hard mattress, if I'd have slept on this one, I don't think I would have been able to move again for quite some time. I knew it was a no go before it was even put on the bed just by touching it. And that was another story. My husband's a big fella, but this weighs 60kg and we had to pay someone else to help get it up the stairs after delivery. Once it was on the bed and before we unwrapped it, it was like lying on a park bench, but my husband thought the thick packaging might be the problem. Took it off, but the chemical stench of the memory foam part caused my husband to have an asthma attack within minutes. (Apparently this is the fire retardant) This clearly wasn't going to work for us on any level and not being in the position where I wanted to throw away over £700 and neither having anywhere to store it, I spoke to the seller who, to be fair, said I could return it, but after a bit of back and forward about wanting us to unwrap it again (we had wrapped it back up) and then put it back on the bed to take a picture to show that was it was in an unused condition, they collected it a week later. They have now refunded me (after chasing) minus £50 for the collection, so yes.... I'm sticking with my 15 year old mattress after that! If you aren't in the same position where sleeping on a firm mattress wouldnot physically damage you, then this is a beautiful quality, I am just so disappointed that this isn't soft on the "firmness " scale. When that is of physical importance, rather than preference, it makes a huge difference!

I gave up trying to sleep on it after two weeks, became increasingly uncomfortable, it soon loses its perceived softness, it may be the large distance between each tuft causing islands of bed, rather than a smooth top surface. I am now back on my original mattress and sigh with relief. This mattress is now on the spare guest bed. I had to get a skilled strong handyman in to move it etc. Their claim of soft beguiled me, but I cannot be bothered to contest them, and return it, although I am sure Amazon would accept it.

After reading all the reviews I finally purchased this mattress and it definitely was the right decision. The mattress has a super soft top layer and offers great support. I would say the mattress is medium in firmness but super comfy and the best mattress I've purchased at what I thought was a reasonable price.

On first usage, this Silentnight mattress was fine but after 3/4 months use it was clear that the pillow top didn't recover its shape and showed distinct depressions comparable with our sleeping positions. After 10 months these sleeping position imprints have worsened to a point where the mattress has become very uncomfortable. Whilst this Mattress is within the 12 month warranty period - Silentnight offer a 5 year warranty, I am asking Amazon for it to be replaced because it is not fit for purpose. I have photographs showing where the mattress has not recovered .

WoW what a mattress, so comfortable thought at first it was a bit firm until we slept on it. No more sore back for me or shoulder for my wife. Well worth the money.

It is a great mattress, but at a price. It is comfortable for sure. My only complaint, or issue, is that the 'memory foam' topper now seems to have adapted to my side of the bed and my weight and appears to remain like that. I appreciate it is called memory foam but I am wondering if I will have to rotate the mattress. It is a very good product and very comfortable.
