As soon as I got these, I put it to work. My dad built my daughter a custom scooter/ plant-flower pot. It sits on our balcony and we always forget to water it.This fixes that problem! Just set it and forget it. The control valve works really well. I realized that other self watering devices aren't as practical.You control the amount of water you want! Other similar products just drown your plant, they don't have any control of how much water floods the plants.Also, the other products only last about a few days. But this one can last weeks maybe even months depending on how you control the water flow.It comes with 12 of them. It's less than a dollar a piece....that's a pretty good deal.Just make sure you get a bottle that fits. Not all water bottles fit. I tried the costco brand (check picture) water bottles and it's too small. Get the bigger ones like the soda bottle types. Those fit perfect. I ended up using a sriracha hot sauce bottle and it fits just right...I washed it out real good. Hopefully the water isnt too spicy..lolI'm going to have my daughter paint the bottle to make it look nice in the pot.Good buy.

 These work well if you need a slow drip system that operates with a standard water bottle. I did not have a bottle to test it with on hand so I don’t know if that is leak free. There are also no gaskets but I imagine because of the orientation of the threads there will be little to no leaking.

This product is so simple to use and your plants will be appreciated if you're going away from home for a couple of weeks. This product came exactly like the description and I put a little video on how I just used mine.

These arrived a few days before I was leaving for a week-long trip. I marked the water level and watched for 3 days while still at home. It did drip and was working well, by all appearances. But somewhere along the 7-day span, they (I tested three at the same time) simply stopped dripping. My plants were half-dead when I got back in town. It's almost like the nozzle has to be systematically adjusted, to aid in the continual dispensing of the water. Unreliable way to water plants if you are not around. Meh. It's a pass.

Was in a pinch and needed to water a dozen or so plants for 10 days. 2 out of the 12 pieces did not operate properly out of the box. The remaining units were very difficult to adjust and did not drip consistently. Takes a good 30 minutes to fine tune each drip stake. Not all bottles recommended will work with the stakes. ie: Large-sized Dasani will work while small-sized Dasani will not. Bottles must be seated tightly or they will leak. Tightening can be a little hard on the hands. With all that said, my plants stayed alive. Would have gotten three stars if all the pieces operated properly. If you are afforded the time I would look into other, more reliable self-watering drip systems with a pump, dedicated drip lines, and a timer. They're not too expensive to set up and very reliable. I wouldn't purchase this again.

I was going on a vacation and I so wanted this to work!...Tried to adjust the knob and even changed the type of bottle but nothing worked; I had left it overnight as a test for a couple of days...the water would flow for some time when you first begin adjusting the knob but then the flow of water into the pot stopped completely- as there was no decrease in water levels in the bottle even after two days of testing. I had to leave two stars because it was delivered on time..

The spikes arrived quickly and installing the "spouts" was simple. However, the spouts didn't work as described. Either the water would NOT come out at all or I would have to loosen the spout so much that the water would just run out in a matter of minutes. I wanted a solution that would trickle water out over a few days. I returned these.

This product is PERFECT for vacation watering, and especially for those plants you always “forget” to water.The stakes fit water bottles as noted in the product description. Wonderful way to recycle these bottles.
