Hawaiian Shaved Ice Machine Kit - 3 Flavors, 25 Cups, Straws, Pourers, Ice Molds

first purchase was in july 2013 for my granddaughter, big hit! then three more at Christmastime, one for me, one for a girlfriend's daughter, and a fourth for some friend's teenage boys. hits all the way around. i love shaved ice, with or without syrup. hawaiian ice sells replacement blades on their website: i have not found them offered for sale anywhere else, and wanted to, because their shipping is exorbitant, so high they should be embarrassed, but their ice shaver is awesome. january 20 2014 update: i got replacement blades (they are not thin like a razor blade, but a thickish piece of metal that tapers to an edge) to have on hand to use in the future, and extra cups to freeze the discs, which, btw, come three to an order. i ordered three and received nine, so that was a pleasant surprise. :) a comment about the leftover ice that cannot be shaved when the frozen disc of ice is used in the machine, a 3" diameter disc of ice that is about 1/4 inch thick. i have read complaints about this being a wasted chunk of ice, but i keep them, put the remaining piece of the disc in the freezer in a bag, and use them to cool down drinks that are in large cups, or to cool down brewed tea for iced tea. i consider having the leftover discs a bonus! i buy snow cone concentrate from Ralph's SnoBall Supply and make cavity/bacteria killing snow cone syrups with xylitol granules, a sugar alcohol sweetener, so every snow cone is a treatment for my teeth. you can even buy some of the concentrates that are clear, eliminating dye, but there are still the preservatives. they also sell syrups pre-made with cane sugar and charge reasonable prices for them, but i buy the concentrates to be able to use different sweeteners. xylitol is also diabetic friendly, and it doesn't taste fake, just good, and i usually HATE artificial sweeteners. i made some syrups with cane sugar this weekend for my grandkids to take home, or you can use stevia or whatever floats your boat. i am not using the xylitol to save on calories, but it does that as well. each 4-ounce bottle of sample concentrate yields a gallon of syrup. i make my syrups about a cup at a time. they are awesome tasting and making them with xylitol keeps cavity-causing bacteria out of my mouth. so fast, so easy, so cost-effective, so good. :)

Makes amazing snow cones!!! flavors are great too

I almost returned this right away, but I'm so glad I didn't and stuck it out a little bit. I say this because there's a learning curve. First of all, be sure to use the ice molds and buy extra to have on hand. You can use ice cubes, but your hands tend have to hold it down firmly and the top rolls around too much, plus the ice is a courser grind. When you use the molds it comes out soft and fluffy - absolutely perfect and grinds very smoothly. I am absolutely addicted to ice but don't want to ruin my teeth so this is the perfect alternative. I probably go through three ice molds a day. This machine is durable and works flawlessly. It is a great value and you can use it with low calorie sugar-free flavoring, plain, or with the Kona ice syrups, which are of course absolutely yummy! I like this so much that I bought one as a gift for my mother who is 87 years old and she has no trouble using and just loves it too.

Overall, this is a very good shaved ice machine and perfect for making cool treats at home. It's easy to use and provides a lot of fun, especially for kids. The only downside is that sometimes the blade doesn't grind the ice as well or as finely as I would like. Despite that minor issue, it's a solid machine and I recommend it.

This product is well worth the advertised price!! I am so glad I purchased it!! Now Let me tell you about this product. As you take the Ice Maker out of the box, you'll have to snap the two adjoining parts together, it's easy breezy! 1,2,3!! There is some work involved as you put the harden ice into the round center of the 🫙. You have to push down on the "ON" pad then hold the top part of the ice maker, it contains the motor, hold into the top part with some slight pressure as you push down onto the ice mold. Hold firmly as your pushing downward, stop when the top touches the bottom half. As the ice is shaved ,the motor will vibrate in your hands. But it's cold wet messy fun!!! Believe me, you'll soon be a PRO at shaving ice molds!!..ha ha...the grandkids love it! Arizona Summer time calls for lots of shaved ice fmsnow cones. I got the Hawaiian Shaved Ice and Snow Cone Machine Party Package for my daughter for Christmas. We have used it almost every day since then and just LOVE it! It's so easy, even my disabled daughter can use it. All you have to do is freeze water in the little cups, remove the ice from the mold (super easy), pop the frozen blocks of ice in the machine, and press down firmly on the button/lid assembly and Voila! in about 30 seconds You have perfect shaved ice. Add your syrup and enjoy! One frozen mold of ice yields us two small-ish servings, a whole mold yields a giant single serve (it fills the 16oz plastic cups we have from the dollar store). Even cleaning it is easy. After you shave the ice, there's a tiny disc of ice left over in the bottom - and there's no need to stick your fingers in there near the blade to get it - simply pick up the machine (without the button/lid assembly it weighs next to nothing) and dump it in the sink. If you forget to dump the little disc of leftover ice, don't worry - even if it melts, there's so little water that the base of the machine contains it all - no kitchen counter mess!. A quick wipe with a cloth is all the cleaning we've ever had to do. Not only does it make perfect snow cones, but it also makes fantastic blended grown-up drinks. It takes all of 30 seconds to make the best blended margarita! Just shave your ice then add your liquor and flavor mix and you're done! My blender is jealous :) I really have no complaints about this little machine at all. I've put off writing this review for so long just trying to find something wrong with it, and I can't! I'm very impressed, and very happy - I should have gotten this years ago.

Ok, overall for the price it's great. If it last a year through my abuse I'll definitely buy another next yet. It takes just a little to get used to how hard to press to get just the right consistency of ice shavings. Press to hard you will get chunks, not hard enough it will just spin the ice chunk around. Once in a while you might get it so the piece attached to the motor will spin around on the ice chunk causing an evgraving on the ice cube. No worries, flip the ice cube over and try again, try lighter pressure and shorter spurts while pressing the button. Our best results came with little pressure down on the top while intermittently pressing the button. The bad, a normal glass will not fit under the device, I have an urge to take a hole-saw and make a hole in the base so that I can elevate it. I find myself using a bowl, or a solo-cup to catch the ice. Also there is a chunk of ice left over and doesn't use the full piece. We toss this into one of our plants as some extra water for those needy plants. A cube of ice in their mold yields a nice amount of shaved ice, locally it'd be approximately a medium. Which is around $4.00. So after a handful of your own shaved ice treats you will have recouped what it would have cost to take it to someone with a more perfessional machine. I'd love get get a larger machine but until I have the space and extra monies laying around this is great. Initially I was torn between so many different choices of machines for making snow cones, but my daughter really wanted a "Snow Cone Machine" and not a blender of some sort, (which I thought would be more useful, but it was her gift, not mine ;)). After I looked around for a while, I decided to purchase this machine since it was designed specifically for snow cones and plus it has everything you need perfectly packaged in the box. It is so simple to set up and so easy to use. I gave it as a Christmas gift to my 8 year old daughter and as soon as she opened it she set it up at our Christmas party and all of the kids had a blast making and slurping up the snow cones. I will definitely purchase more of these as gifts in the future. When I was a kid, we had the old school snoopy snow cone machine that you had to crank with your hand and it was fun and all, but we were always too tired to keep cranking to get the cup full so we would settle for half of a snow cone. I am sure a few of you know what I am talking about. Now when my daughter has friends over, they have snow cones as a treat and all of the kids are always so happy. My daughter said she can't wait until summer when we set up our lemonade stand, she said she will make fresh snow cones for everyone too! We use ice cubes from the trays and they are pretty big, but work perfectly fine in the machine. We love the flavors of the syrups too! I believe it is the same as the syrups used in commercial establishments, as well. This is a perfect gift and I will purchase more as gifts in the future. Since it come with all of the syrups, cups etc. it is also a really good deal. I highly recommend the Hawaiian Shaved Ice and Snow Cone Machine Party Package. Keep slurping!!

Syrups taste gross and the machine is insanely loud but it is still really cool and definitely shaves the ice good
