What is the duck work for ?

Because if you don't run the duct to a lint trap, you'll have the stuff sticking to the walls such that it looks like mold, though it is not

When it says it comes with duck work, what actually does that mean? Do I still need to buy the silver hose to vent outside

I would say yes, buy the hose. It comes with a sturdy plastic “hose” that is about 2’ long and connects to the rear vent. It stays close to the unit and does not move “out/away” like the silver hose would to reach your outside vent. I was very easily able to attach a flexible hose to the unit’s hose and it works great. It also comes with a flat, thin board that is to assist should you want to mount your unit to a wall; works like a spacer as it cannot attach to wall without space due to vent. It works well for me!

How does the length of drying time affect the monthly electric bill?

I use this very frequently and I barely notice a difference in my bill monthly, maybe $5 more if that!!!

Can a full sized down comforter about: 64” long x 86” wide, dry in it well?

It takes work. Got to open it up, pull the whole thing out, reposition so the dampest parts aren't in the center of the bundle, push it back in, restart -- at least 4 x. I just half dry it in the dryer and hang it the rest of the way.
