OXO Good Grips Heavy Duty Garlic Press, Die-Cast Zinc, Black

I purchased the OXO Good Grips Heavy Duty Garlic Press to replace a much more expensive garlic press from Crate & Barrel that I had received from my wedding registry. Unfortunately, the handle on that one snapped off within a year, which was really disappointing. This OXO version feels sturdy and well made. The die-cast zinc construction gives it a solid feel, and the handles provide good leverage so pressing garlic is easy. It crushes cloves efficiently without requiring much effort. The grip is comfortable to hold, and cleanup is simple as well. So far it feels durable and much more reliable than the pricier one it replaced. Overall, this has been a great replacement and a solid kitchen tool. Sometimes the simpler, well-designed option ends up being the better choice.

This is the best garlic press I’ve ever used. It truly does not disappoint. It squeezes out the maximum amount of garlic with very little effort, and the results are well‑crushed and consistent. The grip feels solid and sturdy, and the built‑in cleaning tool is absolutely brilliant. I also love the design — it looks aesthetically pleasing while maintaining excellent functionality. A well‑designed, high‑quality kitchen tool that I’m very happy to own.

OXO really nailed both the design and the price point with this garlic press. What really impressed me is how well it handles unpeeled garlic cloves. You can press the garlic with the skin still on, and the perforation size does a great job of keeping the peel from pushing through. That means less prep time when you’re in the middle of cooking. It’s one of those small upgrades that quietly makes a big difference. Cleanup is refreshingly simple too. Flipping the press inside out helps push out the leftover skins, making it quick to rinse and move on. I have been on a mission for a new garlic press for years, and am happy to say that the mission is over! This garlic press is heavy duty, high quality and easy to clean. More importantly (for me, at least) you can easily reverse the direction of the “press” to loosen and push out the sticky garlic skins left over from pressing. This is the quickest and easiest way I have found to clean out a garlic press and not have to pick out little garlic scraps with a toothpick or knife. The pressed garlic is a great size/texture for all recipes I’ve made, and I have no complaints. I hand wash this item due to frequent use, and it still looks brand new.

Not sure why it is so hard to find a good garlic press, but this is halfway there. It’s sturdy, washes well in the dishwasher without tarnishing, easy enough to clean. There are gripes though, the garlic needs to constantly be adjusted into the lower portion, otherwise it just kind of squeezes out and wastes a lot of the clove. It’s OXO quality but the design could use some more improvement. I had another by Xyliss that I loved but it was made of a cheap veneered metal that ended up being junk. This OXO one is a good middle of the road option if you’re hard pressed and just need something for the job.

This garlic press seems well made and of good quality. I've had it for 5-6 months now and have had no issues. I generally use it several times a week. No rust or corrosion as of yet. If you wash/rinse it out right after use it's easier to clean. All in all, I would recommend!

Garlic processed so simply, peel it put it in squish done. Seems to be of good quality rinse with hot water, hard steel and quality rubber I haven't seen any wear yet and I use it at least 1 or 2 times a week.
