Fabulous Celebration
There were so many fantastic performances that it is almost impossible to single one out. After 10 viewings, I would have to say that Eddie Vedder singing "Masters of War," was my favorite. Also, Tom Petty's performance of "License to Kill, was great. The whole show had such an up vibe. It was so great to watch this celebration and then Bob came on at the end and performed his magic.John Mellencamp really rocks. John opened the show with, "Like A Rolling Stone," one of my all time favorites. There were two back-up singers. The one with the dreads shocked me by her antics and you could tell by looking at her eyes that she was absolutely crazy. Her voice was horrible - all screechy and loud and I'm quite sure a backup singer is not supposed to drown out the star performer. Maybe she was on crank. I am bewildered by who would have hired her for this event. It is a testament to John's talent that he was almost able to overcome this train wreck.I don't know what the deal is with Sinead O'Connor. During some previews, I watched her rehearsing one of Bob's songs. When she came out to perform, it sounded like the audience was cheering her on although some say they were booing. She stood there for a couple of minutes and then cut the band off and continued a rant. For such a little girl she has a tremendous amount of rage inside her. Actually, I think she had a lot of nerve to use Bob's celebration to get on her soapbox once again. At the end everyone appeared on stage to sing "Knocking on Heaven's Door." She stood there with her arms folded across her chest with a sour face and smoking something. Tearing up the Pope's picture was the best thing she ever did.Willie Nelson butchered "What Was It you Wanted." It was so obvious that he was reading the monitor and he flubbed it twice. I know Willie is great, but I am extra fussy about Bob's art.June Carter Cash was kind of funny because she dances exactly like Elaine in the Seinfield episode of "Elaine Dances."After reading my review, I think I've been kind of negative in some places. It really was an extraordinary show. I loved it and watch it at least once a week. It is tied for first place with "The Last Waltz," as the best rock documentary ever made. Probably no surprise that Martin Scorsese is responsible for both of these brilliant documentaries.

“Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration Deluxe Edition” One of the best recording of a live concert I’ve ever seen.
I recently discovered “Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration Deluxe Edition” while I was browsing through the music section at Amazon.com. Since I am an ardent fan of Bob Dylan’s music and of almost all of the musicians who performed that night, I immediately purchased a copy of the concert on Blu-ray. I figured it would probably be pretty good…“Pretty good…” now THERE’S an understatement! “Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration Deluxe Edition” certainly ranks as one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. For almost three hours on October 16, 1992, a panoply of some of the greatest icons of rock and country music dazzled the gathered crowd of over 18,000 cheering Bob Dylan fans at New York’s Madison Square Garden. This marked the 30th anniversary of the beginning of Dylan’s musical career. Honoring Dylan with performances of his songs were John Mellencamp, Stevie Wonder, Lou Reed, Richie Havens, Johnny and June Carter Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Eric Clapton, Tracy Chapman, Johnny Winter, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, George Harrison, and many others, including Bob Dylan himself. The “Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration Deluxe Edition” contains 2 hours and 45 minutes of non-stop music, and includes 30 of Bob Dylan’s greatest and most memorable songs. I especially enjoyed John Mellencamp’s rousing rendition of “Like a Rolling Stone” that kicked off the celebration, as well as Lou Reed’s fiery performance of Dylan’s dark and dense “Foot of Pride.” Richie Havens’ performance of “Just Like a Woman” is particularly moving and wonderful, as is Tracy Chapman’s gorgeous “The Times They Are a-Changin.’” Unfortunately, this otherwise nearly perfect celebration was marred somewhat when the audience began raucously booing Sinead O’Connor, and she responded with an on-stage tantrum. (One wonders how and why this incident ended up on the disc.) Video quality is simply outstanding, appearing as it does in 1.78:1 high definition. Audio is presented in LPCM Stereo 48K only, but it is rich, full, and sounds phenomenal.I own very few music concerts in my home video library. Among my favorites are “Eagles Farewell Tour II” and George Strait’s “The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from at AT&T Stadium.” However, “Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration Deluxe Edition” tops them all. Most highly recommended.

Epic concert. A must for any Dylan fans
We are huge Dylan fans and happened across a few excerpts from this concert on YouTube. My wife did a Google search, found the concert, and some ads for the DVD and Blue Ray. We ordered a copy on the spot and aren't disappointed in any way once it arrived. Highly recommended for any one who likes Dylan's work. There have been so many covers of his songs. It is fantastic to see some of those artist on one stage live.

Concerto storico per il trentennale di attività di Bob Dylan
Line up di artisti incredibile, con molti at top della loro carriera e della forma ... Tra questi John Mellencamp, e poi Booker T and the Mgs , Neil Young che all'epoca era in tour proprio con Booker T and the Mgs' e poi Roger McGuinn .... sicuramente a mio avviso serata magica .
