I have been using the Surya henna creme for a few years. I have medium to dark blonde hair with warm highlights and gray hairs mostly around my face and some mixed in elsewhere. My goal is to cover the grays without changing my natural hair color and having to deal with roots, so I choose a color lighter than my hair to just cover the gray and create highlights. I have used light blonde and Swedish blonde, with some success, but was careful to not leave them on too long because they can get too bright on gray hair. I switched to ash blonde, because I can leave it in a longer time and cover the gray well without creating an intense color over the gray. I leave it on a full hour or a little more with good success. It leaves my hair soft and shiny, leaves my natural hair it's true color, and fades gently so I have no ugly roots with the grow out.. I am careful with the shampoo I use and the frequency of shampoos, so my color lasts longer. This is the only coloring product I trust. I have naturally wavy hair, and Surya does not damage my curls. My hair is very long and the last time I applied it only to the gray roots. I am very happy with this product. I would like to try the golden blonde this way, because it is a warm tone, but wonder how it would look if I left it on for the extended period to cover the gray.

The henna is easy to use and makes my hair silky and shiny. The ash blonde is very bright, almost sun yellow, but I prefer using tit over the hair coloring boxes with chemicals.

I liked the product. It was easy to use. The color is more golden than ash, though.

I enjoy using Surya henna instead of shampoo because it adds a bit of color without making a big change in hue. I leave it on for 10 min or if a lighter color up to 20 min. I use a color darker than my own. I add 1/4tsp of a hair oil to it because henna is drying. It is a real hair food treatment that gives hair shine, manageability, and softness. Shampoos contain detergents, alcohol, and other chemicals and preservatives I want to avoid.To use henna you have to enjoy painting, it is art. Don't try to aim for the exact same color every time. That varies with the condition of your hair. You can have fun following your color whims and mix several Surya colors together.

The only think I like about this product is that it made my hair feel soft and no strong odor. However, it did not cover my grey hair and it turned my hair an orange tint.
