It works!!
Many you tube videos were discouraging. The trick lies in making the batter watery. Usually we keep the dough tough, but u gotta keep adding water n try it on plate before cooking. The dough should flow through the gap (hence watery) n then the plunger cuts it off.As it needs more water, it takes in more oil to cook and u can literally squeez out the oil !!

Don't Buy.
I am giving this adverse feed back because of following reasons.1) Poor quality. The holders of the item may injure the fingers due to its sharpness.2) Price taken from me is higher than printed on the box.

The Vada coming out of this equipment is not in good shape - the vada will have an improportionate hole. ie. the hole is too big. But if you ignore the shape, it is easier to use to make vada.
