REALLY hard to install by yourself the 1st time
Really nice top, fits really well once installed. But, it's the install that's most difficult, especially by yourself!!! The factory channel that holds the front edge of these tops in place is curved right at the edges, these tops have a thick solid plastic edge that fits into that channel that doesn't really allow for that curve. So as you install one edge then go to the other the 1st edge works it's way out of the channel. I ended up having to cut into the plastic to allow for that curve and to get it to hold in place

Good idea, poor execution
I wanted to LOVE bikini briefs. But the damn no drill header channel is a weak link in this setup. Brief is hard to get into the little channel in front and even harder to keep/stay there. Had to return. They need to reengineer how the brief and channel connect.

Bestop is the BEST TOP ever.
I gave this a full 5 star cause I had the pavement ends and there is no compliance to it. It is not even in the same ball park. The top was a little harder to install but it hold out all the water Florida rain wants to give. Today we drove through a storm and not one drop inside the area the Bestop covered..I have the full window wrangler 2000 sport. This top covers it all. I love the way it tucks into window track and not some velcro strap to hold it on. When you drive down the road there is very little flapping. I would buy this again if I had to. I do not recommend the pavement ends .

Not bad made but will NOT install, for me anyway.
I bought the channel that bestop said to use with this top but made no difference this top would NOT install into the channel. I have spend hours trying everything (tying it up, heating, multiple people holding it) to get this to work but nothing helped, the rubber piece would either not go in, or not stay in the channel. I called bestop and talked to a very nice lady that could not offer any help that I had not tried. I spend who know how much heating my garage and the top to make it go on and it still didn't. It is a shame, I know people use this top and love it but I cannot get it to work. heck the construction looks fine but does me no good. Maybe the one I got was bad, I don't know but I give up...it is going back and I will remain topless for now....

... has the potential to be a well designed and easy to install product
This has the potential to be a well designed and easy to install product, unfortunately Bestop has bungled that through lackadaisical design and quality control practices.I have had the same issues that many other customers have described- during installation, the top will not stay in the header channel without being securely clamped down, and the top pulls out of each corner in the front as well. This is due to the design of the fit between the header and the top, and because the top (at least mine) overhangs 1"+ on each side. The plastic strip that tucks into the header channel is straight, while the header channel has a sharp angle (matching the curve at the corners of the Jeep's windshield frame), with no method of securing down the front corners of the top. This results in those front corners working their way out of the channel, during and after installation. The trick to counter this is to apply low heat to the corners of the plastic strip using a heat gun, and bend them (the plastic is marked where the curve should be. A few heat cycles will help reset the plastics form memory and make it stay in place. If you do not have a heat gun, you can use quick clamps on the corners of the top to hold the corners down, and let the jeep sit like that for a couple of days. The heat of the sun will give you the desired effect. If you intend on keeping the top for the long term, I highly recommend using epoxy and adhering the top into the header. DP-420 black would be an excellent choice.Honestly, my biggest beef isn't really the poor design of the top/header interface, its that they are separate pieces. There is absolutely no reason for this. It can easily be a one piece unit with the top installed permanently into the windshield channel at the factory. This would completely negate almost all of the negative reviews and complaints from customers, and make it a true 5 minute installation. This is a very easy and immediately obvious solution, so I am figuring that they are sold separately to make more profit.C'mon Bestop. You make some outstanding products, we you can do better than this.

Nice product
Pretty straightforward install. Best to install in very hot weather so the fabric straightens out after coming out of the box
