Nicholson NS1502 24-Inch x 12 Point Professional Standard Tooth Handsaw (Pack of 1)

I bought this saw because it has 12 point per inch which produces a finer cut and is good for cutting thin plywood and trim.Works good in larger miter boxes or even standard ones.These saws are rare to find as 8 or 10 point saws are the more common ones found.This saw can take place of a large backsaw.

I was looking for a low cost, but functional tool and this is exactly that.

This is a great saw in a hard to find tooth count.

Excellent value. Decent quality, the handle is comfortable and sturdy. Obviously not in the $150+ category but one of the better resharpen-able handsaws I've found for the price.There is a pretty heavy lacquer on the blade but doesn't seem to impede the performance, I haven't yet tried to remove it. The teeth are well shaped and reasonably sharp out of the box.Comes with a plastic blade guard but is about 3mm short of covering the entire blade so that could be improved but a very minor issue.I haven't sharpened it yet but I don't foresee any issue there. It's a good size for thin panels, I mostly use it to bulk dimension plywood before laser cutting.
