Do these oil pastels blend well? Do they require fixative?

I used them they are creamy not chunky and beautiful to blend even with the finger..i used oil and acrylic fixative for the painting i did with oil pastel..it worked very well but i couldn't stand the smell and i got sick..next day i tried sealing the painting with white glue and it worked like charm ..so i think you don't have to worry about how to seal it you can even use PVA glue or oxy resin or oil pastel fixative if that's ok

can you use them in adult coloring books and grayscale?

Oil pastels, depending on the oils used as binders, either dry very slowly (a year to fully cure) or never dry at all. If you don't plan to preserve your pages, then I think you may enjoy using them, but the pages will smear if they come into contact with other pages, your hand, etc.

When using these as background in a coloring book is a fixative needed?

I've never used in a coloring book, but the colors can smear. For my paintings, I always use a fixative. Better safe than sorry. By the way, I really like these oil pastels. Not as soft as Sennilier, but not bad. They're still a professional grade pastel. They're also more affordable. Hope this helps.
