MonMed Medical Models Human Skull Anatomical Model – Life Sized Skull Replica with Removable Mandible and Skull Cap

Some very minor imperfections, but overall accurate, suitable for a medical student, and has some nice touches. Imperfections include a few spots of slight roughness in the finish and some sutures apparently didn't come out right in the initial molding and were touched up. Positives are a wisdom tooth included in the jaw, and as this comes from a mold of an actual skull, there are some interesting, if small, differences in morphology from the standard textbook models -- e.g., unusual underdevelopment of the lacrimal bone. As with many models in this price range, some foramen are missing, e.g. the lacrimal foramen, and the external auditory meatus (this one is apparent, but shallow).

I ordered several of these skull models and used them to demonstrate (by painting the individual bones) the various bone of the skull. I also purchased a disarticulated skull which I made into an exhibit on a piece of black foam core board dividing the bones into the two divisions of the skull. I recommend this skull model. During my 50 years teaching anatomy at colleges, universities, and medical schools, we always used 'real' bone skeletal material. However over the past ten years model companies have perfected the duplication of skeletal models. There are only benefits to models vs real bone. Students are hard on models and real bone. Real skull only last a few years as constant handling results in damage. Plastic model skeletal material is 'student proof' and can be cleaned with soap and water. My personal collection have been placed in glass museum display cabinets with other antiques and items within my study.

Bought this for a drawing class.Seems durable and not cheap, the mandible is removable and can easily be hooked back on.

I needed something to study with for the head & neck part of my anatomy class. This skull was really helpful! The major foramina were there and I could see the meningeal artery imprints in the skull and so on. Definitely recommend for anyone in anatomy trying to figure out what goes where. Note, some foramen aren’t to size or are only partially drilled through but it’s a GREAT study tool regardless

My husband wanted medical grade, and this is it. He is an artist blacksmith and is using it to help when he makes a sculpture. It is well worth the cost.

This skull was exactly what I was looking for to make my Halloween Charcuterie board! Great quality, better than I was expecting. Most store bought ones are hallow plastic and can tip over if not braced. This skull is solid and does not need to be braced. Covered the washed skull with plastic wrap and layered... it was a huge success!!!!

Most skulls have short straight - unrealistic teeth. This skull gots the teeth looking good. This is my go to skull for my wizzy wizzy werx.
