Decent book for the person not familiar with plasma cutting. Covers the history and evolution of plasma cutters as well as mechanized and hand cutting. Author is in the fabrication business and provides numerous examples of his work.It's well written and not full of fluff. Definitely skewed toward Hypertherm products, but that's not a bad thing. If you are going to purchase a plasma cutter, Hypertherm is the way to go. They own the market.All in all, worth the price for the newbie.

Enjoyable and educational read.

This is a nice, general knowledge book on plasma torches and helped out this new, fledgling plasma cutter with needed tips as no information came with my Eastwood 60 amp unit.

Based on the cover I expected more coverage on hand held plasma cutters and thier use in automotive repair and fabrication. Having purchased a new plasma cutter I was interested in learning to use it properly and its various settings. This book was geared way more towards CNC plasma cutters and what type of work the autor did. Most of the infomrtion semed to be directed to his use on CNC plsma cutter in the movie industry and decorative art work. Quite disappoinred, I did pick up a few tips but nohing like what I expected for the price.

I have never used a plasma cutter and this book did address some of the questions I had. Good general information for beginners.

I'm experienced in welding and oxy-acetylene cutting but new to plasma cutting. I thought this book would have more information on the technical side of plasma cutting but it's more about the author and his work than anything. I'm trading it in at Powell's.
