GARMONTMen's T 8 Bifida Multi-Terrain Military Tactical Suede Leather Boots, 8.5 Wide

Still going strong after 17 Months
Comfortable and still going strong. I cant really complain. I find myself still wearing the boots hours after I get home. I haven't deployed with these yet as Im in garrison but I have done yard work, climbed trees and other construction type work and they are still good. I clean them with soap and water. As I look down I see a thread or two popping out but hell my uniform gets those all the time. for the price I would have to say I got my moneys' worth. Souls grip and still have plenty of tread after all this time and they are cool enough for the blazing hot weather I am in. I would say buy!! I haven't had any problems yet.

Great Army boot at a great price!
First time trying out these Garmont boots. They are amazing!!! They fit perfectly (I'm an 8.5 M in all running shoes and most other Army boots) and felt great without even breaking them in.They are extremely comfortable, almost like trainers. They're also comfortable when running. They aren't lightweight, but I honestly don't mind or even think about the weight. The soles are grippy (the rubber is sticky, out of the box) and the boots give enough grip to slowly walk through ice (currently stationed in Korea and just started the winter season of freezing temps, ice, and snow). Paired with some thicker, winter socks (I have only used thicker summer weight socks so far), they can keep your feet at a good temperature. I'm not sure yet how well they'll keep you feet warm when resting out in freezing temps during any military exercises.Make sure you buy some lanolin oil (sheep's oil) to prep the boot for wear. The instructions that come with the boots state to use a very thin application on the leather parts of the boot and hence, gives a really good dark brown color (lanolin changes the color of leather). Lanolin keeps the leather hydrated and gives some protection to wear and dirt. You can also top the boot off with some waterproofer too, for extra protection and water repellancy. Don't use too much lanolin in one spot as it'll smoothen out the napped finish.

Good boots
The soles are fairly rigid given the weight. With thin socks they work in hot weather. With thicker socks they work in cooler weather. These shoes are very versatile. They will hold up to medium duty use and would make a good hiking or even running shoe. I’m on my 3rd pair. As far as sizing….they run about a half size bigger than Keen Newport sandals. Newports can be found and tried on at many brick and mortar stores. So….if you fit in a size 12 Keen sandal…..you probably want size 11 1/2 in the Garmont Bifida.

3 years later…
After 3 years of daily abuse doing outdoor lawn care, the results speak for themselves. The boots just hold up against whatever you put them through. I still wear this pair daily and will be soon replacing with yet another pair of Garmont T8’s.They’re not too heavy, have always been comfortable and were not hard to break in.The bottom half of mine have been literally embalmed with dirt, but the upper half and laces have held up incredibly.10/10 would recommend to someone who is looking for a reliable, in the field pair of work/tac boots.

Extremely pleased
Boots are well made, double stitching, big beefy pull straps and just a great heft to them. Not heavy, but these just feel well made. Put them on, laced them up and they felt like boots that had been broken in for six months. Very comfortable, precisely to size (12W) and ready to work. AND...the price was right! Very happy thus far.

Excellent boot with minor flaws
I work as a forester and enjoy outdoor pursuits. I am frequently off trail, walking through the brush and getting soaked and muddy. I've owned a couple pair of custom made boots from West Coast Shoe Company caulks, a pair of Russell Moccasin Company Toe Lace Hunter, military boots from Altima and several brands of hiking books. I am hard on boots, and even the Wescos needed a rebuild after a couple of years. The Russells needed a rebuild in one year. These Garmonts are more comfortable than any of them. They have a soft, grippy sole that doesn't get hard and slippery in cold weather, shed mud reasonably well and they provide good support off trail and on steep hills. The insoles are cheap, and I wear through the heels of the insole. The midsole is soft enough that it's not a big deal. The mesh drains are not durable, and all four of them eventually break out of both pair that I've owned. It's not a big deal, but it is annoying to have small debris come in through the holes. One pair developed holes in the leather near the widest part of the foot where there is a lot of flexing after about a year. I don't do any leather care with these boots other than drying them. They don't shrink as much as the Altimas after being soaked. I think they are a good deal even if they only hold up for about a year considering how comfortable they are and how inexpensive they are.

Great boots
These are the boots allowed at BCT. My trainee needed something better than the standard issue and he said these have great ankle support.

Excelentes botas para montaña, son cómodas se sujeta muy bien al pie.
The media could not be loaded.
