I like inputting an element of whimsy into the kitchen, and within the right setting, this can fulfill that precise purpose! There are two silicone sheets in the precise look of a basketball. I think they will be a tremendous asset around the kitchen. First, they can be used very effectively for a hot mat. A place to set a hot serving dish or even a frying pan that happens to be hot after cooking. The silicone pads are thin enough that you are also able to utilize them to pick up hot items as well. Their flexibility enables that process beautifully. While they are both thin, they are sufficiently thick that they are able to be used in many ways. Microwaving is another aspect that they provide excellent service for. Whether taking out or inputting various dishes that are hot or picking up piping hot baked potatoes from the oven, these can do the job flawlessly. I would definitely give my full recommendation for these silicone hot pads. As I mentioned they are a perfect way to interject a bit of whimsy into the entire food preparation process! Highly recommended!

The product describes many ways to use this product, but sometimes, you find one way and it does it very well. The need I wanted fulfilled was getting something hot out of the microwave, but also preventing it from making a mess on the plate. This is exactly where this product shines. Usually I heat up some soup in the microwave and the bowl is extremely hot. Here, you can just rest the soup bowl on the basketball mat, and when its ready, you can safely grab the bowl that's resting on top of the mat and easily transition it to the counter top without worrying about damaging the counter top. Having it be a basketball design really makes it unique and it's one of "Daddy's" kitchen tools. You do get 2 mats in the package (a larger one and a smaller one), so its bonus value. I've also used it as a pseudo plate for snacks. I'm pleasantly surprised with this product.

This set of two silicone mats are just as pictured and described. I got them as a gift for my sister who is a hugh basketball fanatic, and who I know will use them a lot. She is constantly reheating leftovers and then putting her hot dishes on a table with a pot holder underneath. Silicone is a great option for this as it is both heat tolerant and allows a firm grip. There are 2 sizes and they are good sized (bigger than I was imagining when I ordered). They are thick enough to be heat protective but thin enough to allow great flexability. They are easy to clean up and allow for a wide variety of uses-very functional. Them seem high quality, though I can't at this point speak to long term durability; I will update if any issues arise with extended time and use.

Did I need not one, but two basketball themed hot pads for use in the kitchen? No. Did I order them anyway? Oh yeah. And I'm glad I did. They work very well. Nice and flexible as you would expect, good at protecting fingers and countertops from extreme heat and they just add a little bit of fun to cooking. Overall they are a very nice product. One is larger and one is smaller, we use the larger one for putting under bowls in the microwave, which you can then use to pick up the hot bowl easily with and not burn anything

This is a very convenient multifunctional product to use. - Splatter Guard - It can act as a splatter guard to cover items put in the microwave. I usually put a wet paper towel over items that I microwave to prevent it from splattering. It works well for this purpose. - Trivet - Pot grabber - Convenient to grab hot pots - Placemat - My son likes the basketball design, and will use it as a placemat for meals. I'm sure there are many more uses that I have yet to think of. I like that its non-slip, and easy to clean. Its great that it comes in two sizes -- 10" & 12". I could do without the basketball design, but it does make things a bit less boring. Overall, it seems like a quality product with lots of uses and I would recommend it.
