Q: The size was listed as 7/16", but most places use metric size. 7/16" seems to equal to 11mm, can someone verify this? Thanks!

Pretty close. It will be a tight fit. 11mm is slightly less than 7/16" but these poles are a bit under, in my experience.

Q: Any tricks to trimming the length of the fiberglass pole to match length needed for replacement?

Super easy, I trimmed mine to length with my miter saw. Just cut slowly so it doesn’t splinter. You could also cut it with a hand saw.

Yes, you can cut them down to the length you need. I cut my poles and rounded the edges off and they work great.
