Blower motor replacement
This blower was purchased to replace a 20-year old identical Regency Wood Stove blower motor. It is exactly the same motor and blower. However, you will need to retain some of the old motor wiring to cut & crimp. The new motor comes with just a crimped power cord and an attached ground wire. You will need to cannibalize the old wiring in order to use your existing power switch and thermal overload. A minor nuisance. The new blower might also have to be rotated 90 degrees on the baseplate. In order to gain access to the bolts, you have to pinch and remove the cotter pin and then pull (hard) on the plastic blades to remove. Another minor nuisance. Make sure you have a magnetized socket screwdriver handy.Altogether, it took my fat fingers about 30 minutes to install. The new blower is whisper quiet.

Buy It!
This blower works great. Mounting is up to you. There are no specific install instructions and I ended up using a stack of bricks behind the wood stove to elevate the fan to the proper height. I also rewired the power and ground to 1 cord. I did not use a switch in my install. The heat coming off the stove was minimal. After installing the blower, the heat from the stove is abundant. I would guess that the time taken to heat the house is easily cut in half after installing the blower. The ducting coming off the blower was installed to keep the intake from sucking up dust.

Value for the money
cheaper then buying after market from stove dealers. Had to make some adjustments to install. Only works at one speed . High that's OK

great transaction, but product doesn't do a whole lot...
Don't get me wrong, this transaction went perfectly. The seller is great, and the item showed up on time as described. I was, however, surprised when I got it all set up that the fan doesn't do a whole lot: it needs more power. It still helps heat the room faster, but I was expecting a lot more. I'd probably still buy it again, as in the long run it will pay off, but don't expect your living room to be toasty in half the time.

Easy Install - just ignore instructions
My fan was getting noisy, so I looked for a replacement. Heat N Glow dealer wanted $250 plus about $150 for a thermostat to be mounted across the room, no other options. Amazon suggests a thermal switch plus variable speed controller for an extra $25.00.I already had the variable speed switch so I checked out the thermal switch - one review complained about shipping cost so I kept looking to find one that was cheaper to ship, I found one that saved me a buck on the cost of the switch and another on the cost of shipping so I ordered it. When the package arrived it contained the thermal switch, the blower and the variable speed controller. The wiring diagrams were a mess, my receptacle was grounded (three prong) their plug was not grounded (2 prong) with a separate ground wire. I cut off the plug, Put all 3 wires into a grounded plug, connected the thermal switch and controller in-line into the black wire and plugged it in. No problems except figuring out where to put the thermal switch - I ended up with it sitting on top of a brick below the fire box.P.S. They shipped me the wrong order, the switch I ordered separate from the blower arrived 4 days later from CSH Inc. To see a good wiring diagram of how I wired it look at the photo of R7-RB168.

Satisfactory blower
This was a replacement for a fan that I bought from a local fireplace shop just over a year ago. When the fan stated making a lot of noise the local fireplace shop said tough luck. The replacement was half the price and looks basically the same. Have used it for about a month now and it seems OK. It does the job it is designed for, moves the heat from the fireplace out into the room.

How did I go so long w/o knowing about this?
A friend of mine told me he recently installed a blower in his gas fireplace. Told me the model and where he found the info inside the sticker in his fireplace. Having never paid attention to it before, I located the model number of my unit rather quickly and searched a few sites. End of story, I bought this unit and it was shipped to me quickly. Arriving in an already put-together unit, the only thing I had to do was plug it into the correct outlet, test the switch - and of course, clean out the dust in my fireplace so it would not get blown out into the living room. I initially didn't know where to attach the crimped green ground wire, but eventually just found a piece of metal to wedge it in between. Shortly after, I tested it all together. I also ended up lowering the flame height on the fire because, well, heat is heat, and the blower does an amazing job at pushing it out. I really don't know why I didn't search for this several years ago; it was easy to install and will definitely help keep the common area warmer. Worth the money for me.

Really blows
I put this in my wood-burning built-in stove. It worked much better than the stock fan. I noticed that I had enough room for two of them, so I bought another. The two fans transform my stove from a decoration to a heating appliance. Each fall when I clean the stove and chimney, I remove the fans and oil the motors using a pinpoint oiler. Fans are still going strong in their 7th season.
