I dip the brush directly in, the soap is pretty solid in the container. One container lasts me nearly a year (shaving every other day).

Can you use this without a brush?

No, this shaving soap is specifically meant for use with a brush. You need the brush to create the lather, otherwise it's not creamy enough to use as a shaving gel/cream.

Does this soap contain Parabens, BHT, and Propylene Glycol?

Sorry this took so long, I was out of town for two weeks. I looked at the ingredients and as far as I could see none of the ingredients you were concerned about are in the product. I've gone through three jars of this product with nothing but good results. You may also look up ARKO, it is similar and made in Turkey. This product is made in Italy. I've used both and they are both very good shaving soaps.

Does the lid on the bowl screw on so that it is tight for travel, or does it just press on?

The lid is a press on lid. It stays on pretty tight. The amount is over the 2.5 to 3 oz. allowable size for a carry on, so unless you are putting it in check in baggage, you won't be able to bring it. If you does end up in your check in baggage then you should be fine but I would recommend putting in a plastic bag just to be on the safe side. If you are flying in a private plane, then I think it goes without saying that you will be fine. Things don't get tossed around as much that way, although I would think this goes without saying. Superb product

I have been using this product for the last one month and I am very much satisfied. It has a very nice cooling sensation which makes me want to shave again & again. A very small quantity is required for a rich lather.

Refreshing lather.

It’s a great shaving cream/soap. Well, it’s what you’d call a Croap (in between cream and soap). And as far as best international brands go, it is good value for money. Produces good lather with nice mint and eucalyptus fragrance and instant coolness. It’s a great soap to wake your senses in the morning. But not advisable if you don’t like strong fragrances. I think this may last me 30 odd shaves (two passes) easily. Possibly even up to 40 or 50.
