Useful tool
I started making yogurt at home, and having this dedicated strainer is very helpful. The mesh is very fine, I barely see any solid get drained through. When I use it, I usually just put yogurt into the container before I go to sleep and will get a jar of Greek yogurt the next morning. Also this is easy to clean, rinsing under water is enough to clean.

It Really Works, and It's Pretty, Too.
I needed to strain some yogurt that had become too thin. I buy plain nonfat Greek yogurt at the supermarket, dump it into a bowl, add Stevia and vanilla mixed in water, and stir gently with a wire whip. Recently, I bought a different brand, but I added too much water. The strainer I bought on Amazon turned out to be a heavenly gift. I stained the yogurt overnight. The yogurt was thick and creamy, so creamy in fact, that I returned small amounts of the liquid until it was the right consistency. I put the rest of the liquid into the freezer for later use. The strainer came with a spring, not sure what this is for. Maybe making yogurt? I highly recommend this product.

Nice unit but not quite big enough
Works nice. Just wish it was a bit larger. Doesn't quite fit 1/2 gallon and can't use the spring. Maybe if you just make 1 quart.

No spring or press plate
Does not come with a spring and heavy plate! Do not order this one if you want a press. This one relies on gravity. It’s big and works fine. But it’s weird because it looks like it’s meant to have a spring there’s room for it

Convenient product
I used to strain yogurt with a colander, muslin cloth, and a large bowl, but that’s a bit cumbersome and difficult to put in a fridge without losing an entire shelf. This strainer definitely takes up a considerable amount of space but it’s far more reasonable and you can actually stack other things on top of the lid. It works nicely enough that I’ve considered getting a second on since I usually make yogurt from a gallon of milk, meaning I have to strain it in two batches (and save a cup unstrained for culturing the next batch).

Great item.
I love this pot. It separates my yogurt and stores it airtight.
