Great collar
Double sided leather (inside colored leather seems to be covered with patent leather), apparently with some cushioning between. Looks good outside and protects your dogs neck inside. Exactly what I was looking for. Sizing was exact. Don’t forget to add about an inch over your dogs actual neck size when selecting your collar size and you won’t be disappointed. Looks and functions great on sighthounds. I get compliments on this collar all the time.I love this collar so much I ordered a second collar for when the original collar I bought wears out. It was different, less attention to detail (some over-stitching), and the outside leather was more glossy than the original. It’s still a great collar, but some “batch” variations exist and should be expected.

TWO MONTH UPDATE - ZERO STARS
TWO MONTH UPDATE - MARCH 1, 2025As predicted, the leather strap has worn out. Two days ago, on a normal walk, the hole on the collar's buckle finally tore into the next-closest hole. Pictures are attached. As you can see, the hole at our preferred sizing option has been stretching more and more for weeks. Finally, just about 2 months after purchase, the collar is no longer fit for use.I wanted to like this item, but I am very disappointed in the buckle design. This needs to be upgraded substantially by either changing to a different clasp or riveting the holes so they don't wear out over time.I hope the company makes things right because I am really their biggest fan, but two months of use is not enough.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------JAN 4, 2025i am impressed with this product. it has modified my dog's behavior substantially. i am using it to develop better leash manners and reduce pulling--this product is effective at implementing these.i have a 30lb hound dog, 1.5 yrs old. She is anxious and excitable--borderline reactive, although it's likely just puppy energy. Before this collar, i used a front-clip harness exclusively. i don't like pulling on my dog's neck and hoped the front-clip would redirect her efforts to pull. This has not been successful, so I began considering a martingale collar (no prongs).Instead, I received an Amazon gift card and decided to give this product a try--here's my experience:First, I measured my dog's neck; ~13 inches. I purchased the collar that is 11-13 inches. it barely fit. Further, since it was sized to the largest available size, the wide part of the collar sat naturally to the side of my dog's neck instead of gently on her throat. After some debating (i'm not a Prime member), i returned the collar and purchased the next size up; 13.25" is the next smallest size, so i was a little worried it would slip over her head. With the second collar i ordered, things have gone very smoothly. since it's on the smallest available size, the wide part sits perfectly across her throat. from the very first moment, she has reacted positively to the pressure on her neck. when she attempts to lean into the collar (and choke herself), a few gentle pops (tugs) on her lead direct her to stop pulling. The amount of self-choking is greatly reduced as compared to a regular flat collar, a martingale, or a hermspringer. We still try to keep a loose leash (especially since there's a ~1" gap on this collar), but she responds quickly to redirection and is able to stop pulling/reacting. previously, with the front-clip harness, my dog would still pull and lean away if one of her triggers was nearby. while wearing this collar, instead, she was recently able to sit and stay (without barking) while a neighbor's big dog walked by.SUGGESTIONS:1. I am concerned because the closure mechanism relies on a leather strap through a classic buckle. This means the entire integrity of the collar relies on maintaining a small hole on a narrow strip of leather. the hole is already stretching, so i'll probably come back and update in a month or two. II think this product could benefit from a different closure mechanism--maybe a metal clasp or buckle that is more secure and able to bear my dog's full weight long-term.2. In line with the closure mechanism, depending on which hole you use, the wide part of the collar may end up on the side of your dog's neck. it would be better to deduce a way to customize the size while keeping the wide part of the collar squarely in front of the throat.3. The wide part of the collar also seems like a missed opportunity for further customization. the colors aren't super flattering, so some kind of embroidered design on the leather could add substantial flair. despite this, i am very impressed with the padding and apparent comfort of the collar, generally.NOTES:- I suggest you opt for a size where your dog's neck is at the lowest end of the size range. this will enable the wide part to sit across the throat, which is necessary for this tool to function properly.- I use this collar only for walks and I place it above my dog's regular flat collar that carries her ID tags. I haven't considered obtaining separate ID tags for this collar, because i don't envision her wearing it in-between walks.

Good option for sighthound collar
I bought this for my borzoi and am pleased. It is soft but also durable and works well for his frame. The only downside is there is not much room for growth so if you buy for a puppyhood you will need to buy another one (or two) as they grow. Overall these are good options for sighthounds.

Our dog has a bit of an odd head shape ...
Our dog has a bit of an odd head shape - a small, narrow head on a thicker, waddled neck. Because of this, it's been almost impossible to find a collar for her - regular collars would either fit too tightly or slip right off over her head. She's also rather rough on them, playing in the dirt and so forth. After looking everywhere, we settled on this one. I was a little leery about the belt-loop style, and it is still a choice between too loose at one notch and just a little snug for my comfort at the next notch, but she doesn't seem bothered by the snugness and the collar is holding up very well. It doesn't seem to gather as much dirt as a webbing collar, and it's definitely easier to clean.

Very cheap
Very poor quality. The collar didn’t come with the holes punched out so I had to do it myself and cut myself in the process (hence the bandaid). The inside leather is okay but def will deteriorate quickly if your dog is the type to like to play in the ocean, roll around in dirt, etc. this will not last. The top part is very cheap feeling, almost like plastic and the glossiness of it shows that it’s cheap. There are better collars out there for a better price. Do not settle.

Yay, finally my puppy doesn't have to choke during walks!
Update : it's been 4 months and the collar has been going strong. Going to order a second one since my puppy has grown out of this.I love this collar. Fits well. The biggest most important advantage for me is that my puppy has not once choked while walking with this collar on. I was worried about the strength of the collar after reading the reviews but it is quite durable. I've been using it for about a month and it is strong enough for my 5 month old Beagle puppy (17 pounds) who pulls too hard. No signs of wear and tear yet.
