A late maturing variety
The seeds took very long(12 days) to germinate even with scarifying and soaking them in water. Only two seeds germinated out of the 6 I planted. Now the plants are almost two months old and still around 1 meter in length. I pinched the tip to encourage the growth of side shoots and they are coming up slowly with a couple of flower buds. They are getting everything they need to grow very well. I had planted a local variety of bottle gourd along with this one and that plant is growing up so fast. I hope this plant produce something in the next month. Definitely not an early producing variety as the description said. I wanted it to produce before my local variety produces fruits. But I guess both will produce together and I will end up with too many fruits all at once.Update: almost 3.5 months and still nothing but vines. There is no excess nitrogen or any other fertilizer in the soil and the plants are growing healthy but no flowers or fruits.
