Dawson pen multimeter
This little thing is great.im very happy with this meter. It is perfectly sized no larger than a testlight and the portability increases your ability to have a good reliable multimeter at all times.I highly this tool as it is becoming my first tool of choice when diagnosing automotive electrical wiring problems. This is the meter to have.

Not reliable
The meter has a retractable needle at its tip. It worked well for about a month and then the retractable needle would not extend.

Mediocre quality and design, ok features.
Between the retractable tip breaking when you drop the meter (which you will do), and the test lead wire coming out, and the non-contact A/C feature never working, it's definitely not great, but it is still compact and useful.

works fine after initial repair
Arrived with internal current fuse blown. Manual says it is resettable but it is not, it is just a normal fuse soldered to the circuit board. I contacted Dawson and they replaced at no charge, except for my postage to them. After that, it has been working fine, it is very handy and seems accurate enough. Given the other comments here I do take it easy when turning out the probe tip but with a little care it looks like it will work fine for a long time. Only thing I would to change is the LCD could use a backlight. Oh and I replaced their ground lead with one that has a mini clip, the alligator clip they provide is far too large for my applications. Fortunately the connector is the usual guarded banana plug so it accepts many standard lead styles.

Great daily use tool
Use this tool daily, stays in my tool pouch, and it performs as you would hope. Well made, good to go.

Not for electrical dummies...
Meh... too complicated. I'm not an electrician by any stretch, not even close. I know that when I flip a switch on my wall, the laws of the universe work and lights come on - seriously, it's that bad. I bought this because (and please, try not to make fun of me) I wanted to see the level of EMF's I'm exposed to on a daily basis. It's a real problem!! I read it on the Internet... what??! The readings jump all over the place, I can't get a consistent reading. I tried to read the instructions but even the English portion is written in a different language - I couldn't figure out what the hell they were talking about! I give up... death by EMF's it is. : (
