KYB Must add Provision for Rubber Boot on Steering Damper...Good Damper at Reasonable Price Though!
I ordered the steering damper by KYB, but, I didn't realize it did not have the proper provision for a rubber boot. This is strange as the damper is designed for trucks and every other damper/shock I've ever purchased for my Jeep had the provision for a boot. Only exception are dampers/shocks that have a protector already on the rod end...Old Man Emu for example. In case someone doesn't know what I mean by "a provision for a boot", there is a rod end and a tube end. The tube end is the fat end which contains the piston, seal and oil, etc. The rod end has the chromed metal rod that moves in and out of the tube. On the tube end, there is usually a round metal plate about 1.5 inches or so in diameter. It is mounted where the rod is welded into the "eye" (the big hole at the end of a shock). The fat end of the boot slips over the cylinder(tube) and attaches with a zip tie and the smaller end has a crease that sort of slips around the round, flat metal on the rod end. The boot protects the rod from debris, dirt, mud, water, etc., and will usually, extend the life of the shock/damper.I'd pay the $1 more for the provision for the boot. I just don't understand why manufacturers, especially like KYB, don't add this simple feature. As for the function, it works as specified. However, I have 31x10.50 all terrain tires on my Jeep. If you have 33x12.50 and larger, you may want to look for one of the traditional Jeep/truck dampers. Reason being, the tube is significantly smaller in diameter than my previous Rancho 5000 damper, which had the boot provision. This tells me that the piston is significantly smaller and, therefore, probably not built for larger tires or serious of off road use. Just a guess on my part.

Factory fit
I like the price and the quality of the brand. My only complaint is that it did not come with a dust boot. The factory one didn't have one either, so a small complaint.Overall it preforms as stated by the manufacturer.

Installed just fine
I purchased this stabilizer to replace the original stabilizer on a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic. The hardest part was removing the old stabilizer. I found good detailed instructions for removal by searching Google. This stabilizer took five minutes to install and the hardware for the tie rod end is included. There is a tapered sleeve that goes into the tie rod. The factory bolt has the taper built into it. You can reuse the factory hardware but I elected to use the new hardware that came with the stabilizer. I hope I never have to try to remove that sleeve! The original stabilizer was leaking oil but it still had resistance when I took it out. This new stabilizer feels the same as the one I took out and I don't notice a difference after installing it but if your stabilizer is totally shot then you should see an improvement.

Fits a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I was apprehensive about purchasing this product after reading some of the reviews. This SS fit just fine on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I reused all my mounting hardware except for a new sleeve. This SS is not replacing the OEM SS so I am already using different hardware. The hardware on the left in the photo fit my application. SS is made in Mexico and the hardware in the USA.

As long as you're bushings are you okay good deal
Did not come with any hardware no bushings or nuts and original nuts from old shocks don't fit new

Working well
It seems fine . installed it on my 98 k1500 4x4 with 6.5l turbo diesel. It was easy to install, my only complaint which isnt really much of a complaint, would be its a little lower grade material. But after a month already its working fine and looks like it will last awhile despite my skepticisim. Id recomend it . the price is pretty good as well.
