WARNING -
Product is great to help prevent you Mac from damage (because Mac for some daft reason stopped mag charger) However, once you plug in the Looyat its almost impossible to remove it from the port. Mine is stuck after first use, will need tool to remove which could scratch the mac book pro! (band new Mac book) . Magnet is ok but not as strong as the old Mac of course so will keep filing off if you move it at all. With it from saving your computer from crashing too the floor, but not best design.Improvements needed :easy to remove from portlight to show charging (if that's possible ?)slightly longer lead

Works but can be a little fiddly.
I use this with a 2018 MacBookPro connected to the Apple charger. Having had it for a few months now, it does seem robust and once properly connected is reliable. However, getting it connected can require a few tries - sometimes it doesn't quite mate correctly and there's no connection. Trying again normally gets it to connect. It isn't as good as the MagSafe connector I had on my 2015 MBPro, but it does work and does seem to give the protection MagLock was designed to give (i.e. yanking on the power cable won't pull your laptop off the desk and onto the floor).Overall I'm happy with it, but as mentioned, it could be a little easier to get aligned correctly on connection.

Too short and too loose
I think comparing this to MagSafe is a huge mistake. Yes, it is magnetic, but the smallest movement will cause it to come out of place. Plus, it's far too short, even compared to the original Apple cable. For the price, it's just simply not worth it.

The Best Magnetic Cable so Far
I have tried a couple of solutions to replace the Magnasafe on my MacBook but both didn't work. So far this cable seems to be good and I am considering buying another. The price is not cheap and the colour is not my taste, but the quality is good. You get what you pay for.

Works great.
Used this for my Macbook Pro as I don't like the thought of tripping over the cable and ripping my Macbook along with it. The cable seems to be very sturdy and the usb c end stays in the laptop so there is no need to worry about losing that. If you are laying on your bed then the cable might come off and stop charging but this isnt too much of an issue and should be expected with a metal charging cable.

Decent
For the safety of not having my new MBP yanked off a table this is well worth the money. Why spend money on Apple Care if you leave the mac open to such daily risk? I expect the cable will fail at some point but maybe the same longevity as the usual Apple cables. Getting the little pin USB out your Mac may be tricky but isn't really an issue. The cable also magnetises itself to radiators etc which maybe could be worrying if it actually made an electric connection (gas tanks, kids braces etc) - perhaps this is why Apple pulled this design.

Excellent so far - UPDATE: kinks in cable causing problems
Only started using this today but it seems to be excellent quality. I like the fact the magnetic part fits perpendicular (L-shape connection) to the plug. I'm leaving the magnetic part in the charger end because I only use one charger but I charge multiple devices and I don't want to be fiddling with the tiny magnetic plug. The only downside is it can be quite hard to remove the magnetic plug from the device type-c socket.UPDATE 2019/12 (one year later): over time, the cable has developed kinks which are resulting in some loose connection. I often need to make subtle changes to how the cable is lying in order for charging to occur. This doesn't appear to be a problem with the connection points (plugs).

The cable Apple should include
This is the product Apple should have included with the newest MacBook Pro. The magsafe cable is essential, for without it, your MacBook risks being badly damaged if the standard USB-C cable is snagged. This really is something Apple should be addressing, but in the meantime, to safeguard your MacBook, this is the best alternative.
