These are exactly what I was looking for. I make a lot of salads as I work from home. The 2" height makes it perfect so that the lettuce doesn't fall out of the bowl when you are tossing it. It is 10" across so you could actually use these bowls for a lot of things including serving. They feel like they are a heavy plastic material and the smaller bowls you can use for sauces or dressings. I sent atrial use the wooden utensils as u find them to be quite big and cumbersome and feel clumsy in the hands. For large salads, it’s just easier for me to use tongs while serving. Since they are such a light color, I don’t use them for any red colored foods as I know they would stain them badly.

I got the salad set in blue as we like to have a salad with dinner a few nights a week. It's nice to have a dedicated salad bowl, and I was interested in the wheat straw material. It feels indistinguishable from plastic, but kind of a cheap plastic? It's just fine for casual dinner at home, but I wouldn't use it for guests or to take a salad to dinner elsewhere. The bowl holds one salad bag, and that's about it. Adding extras to a salad bag overfilled it (see photo), and the usual amount of salad I make (from scratch, no bag) for 3 people required both bowls. The night we did a salad bag I just put a couple toppings (tomatoes and olives) in the bowl and then used the sauce bowls for the other add-ins (carrots, cucumbers, mushrooms, croutons) so that folks could add them to their own bowls. The utensils are lovely - heavy and feel great. The small sauce bowls are nice for when I make my own dressing (about once a week), but we've started using them for all sorts of dipping sauces etc. The product information says that it's dishwasher safe, but I don't like washing wood in the dishwasher as it damages it/dries it, and I am not confident about the bowls, so I've been handwashing.

I absolutely love this set. I got them because we're eating more salads these days. I didn't have a salad set so when I saw this one, I got it. It's a very nice set. I got it in the black color. The salad bowls are big enough to put a nice sized salad in it and toss it around with so spillage over the top of the bowl. In the beginning I was used to fitting my salad to the bowl, but I soon learned that there was no way I could eat a salad that big in one sitting. I think you could even make a tossed side salad for two, in one bowl. I was so used to having to fill my little cereal sized bowls up to get a big enough salad for a meal that I had done that with these bowls. Now, I just fill the bowl about half way and it's just perfect. The smaller "dressing" bowls are nice too. They also are very big for just a serving of dressing. I was curious, so one day I filled the small bowl with dressing just to see how much would fit. Oh my goodness ! Almost an entire 8 ounce bottle of dressing ! So even though I've changed the way that I use these, I still really like them. They will hold a nice serving of my cucumber salad, a small bowl of chili, a serving of grits or oatmeal. We even use the larger bowls as a dinner plate as they're very large in circumference, about 7 or 8 inches, and only about 4 inches deep. They work well for a nice baked chicken dinner with a veggie and maybe some quinoa on the side. The high sides of the bowls keep from spillage too. The smaller bowls are just right for my Greek yogurt parfaits that I make with a single serve cup of Greek yogurt, some sliced fruit, and a little whipped topping. They are very well made and durable. A good value for the money. I believe this set will last me for years to come. I would cut a steak on them, because they're made from wheat straw, but they can handle a good bit of usage. OH ! I haven't even told you about the beautiful set of serving utensils. They are a nice, heavy set, beautifully made and very sturdy, and solid. I wanted this set, first, but they have other options of colors and items available on the listing page. I'm going to be buying the six piece set of cereal bowls next. I think they'll be a nice addition to this set. Thanks for reading. Have a blessed day ! 🤗

This serving set is practical for both everyday use and entertaining. The large bowls hold plenty for salads, pasta, or side dishes, and the smaller sauce plates are great for dips or condiments. The wheat straw material makes them lightweight and they don't break if dropped, which is perfect for outdoor dining. • Generous capacity: Large bowls and sauce plates are well-sized for gatherings. • Lightweight and durable: Easy to carry, won’t chip or break if dropped. • Dishwasher safe: Cleans up easily after use. • Includes utensils: Wooden servers are a nice bonus. • Microwave safe: Can be used in the microwave for reheating* but only up to 3 minutes Overall, it’s a sturdy, lightweight set that’s great for serving indoors or outdoors, with the bonus of being both dishwasher and short-use microwave safe.

This wheat straw salad set comes with two large bowls, two small bowls / dressing dispensers and spoon/fork set. All are made from wheat straw, so while the production description mentions "wood" for the serving spoon and fork, they are actually made of the same material as the bowls, just a different color. This is my first experience with wheat straw anything, so I was a little taken a back to see how much the material looks and feels like a muted plastic (not glossy). However, I also spent some time learning about wheat straw "plastics" and found they are made from remnants of wheat stalks and are biodegradable. This is not a petroleum-based product like other plastics. What this material is is lightweight and strong. I tried bending the spoons but could not. When I held the entire set in one hand, it felt super light. Based on the feel and construction, I would say these are well made bowls that probably could withstand drops from height. I rated this only 3 stars because there is no information in the description or on the product about whether this material is made with any kind of traditional petroleum-based plastics binder. As I've come to learn, that is sometimes one of the ingredients. While this is dishwasher and freezer safe, and is a salad set, it is unknown whether it can handle hot foods safely.
