Good Light to Keep In Your Tool Bag, Car, etc.
So, these are inexpensive. And to an extent, it shows. But, they put out a good amount of light, the magnet and hook make it easy to get this light into position pretty much anywhere you might need it, and because they are LED, they are pretty good with battery life. (standard AA batteries also nice)I had a very similar light before, and I am pleased that these ones don't do the strobe light thing... It was totally useless and required me to hit the button an extra time to turn it off.CON - minor issue, but the button is pretty easy to accidentally hit, so I find them turned on in my bag a lot. The battery life is so good that they keep working for a while anyway, but it's cutting the practical battery life in half I think. Also, the hook sits so deep in it little groove that it usually requires a screwdriver or keys or something to pry it out.

A MUST HAVE
Great little lights!! PERFECT for anyone in passenger or backseat! They hang on 'bout anything/everything...bright enough to see individual colors in a 52 set tower of gel pens! (Where there are 3 of eCh color in different finishes!) First round of batteries are still going strong at time of this review (7-31-16) They don't cast too far, which was a good thing for my purpose. They were a big hit while camping. MUCH better than flashlight for battery preservation. Had a 17 head deck party that ended up at the fire pit. I hung these on a hook rod (the iron thing you stick in ground to hang plants on...I can't recall the name of it) next to fire... and trips inside for whatever reason, were much less perilless(?) Folks just grabbed one, clicked it on..and off they went. No stumbling around .These are really great for this price! SUPER handy and durable!

Great light, weak magnet
The light is bright and very functional as you would expect (able to click through OFF-Spot Light-OFF-Floodlight). My only reason I rated it 1 star less is because the magnet does not attach itself very firmly. I ordered 6 of these lights and they all had weak magnets. Barely holds itself onto a piece of metal the same size as the magnet. Works better on a solid metal surface, but if all you have is a screw to attach this to then it falls off. I like strong magnets and can't see a disadvantage in using a stronger one for this product, It just shows as a negative on the manufacturer in my opinion. That being said, it is a good price for a cheap work light for the truck or gun safe.

Handy
Just what you would need in case of low lights. I bought several of these and I am hooked. It runs 27 LED's on 2 AA batteries and is brighter than a mag-lite and cheaper. It comes with a hook so you can hang it or stick it on the side of your fridge, in case of a power out. As a photographer, this helps my camera focus in low lighting situations. Just rig it with a small carabiner and it will stay on your belt loop. These are small enough and strong enough, that I've tossed a couple in the car trunk, behind the medicine cabinet mirrors, side of the fridge, and tool boxes in the garage. I also got a couple for the shop, and low and behold, a power outage and there was plenty of light with 5 of these buggers there. Can't go wrong with this guys. Harbor freight sells these for around 3 bucks if your close to them or else anywhere in the neighborhood of under $4 is good.

For the cost, a terrific light but...
It's a cold white light, don't expect accurate color temps. The hook doesn't swivel, for the cost that's not really a bad thing but you should be aware of it.If you don't work in theater or lighting then this light will likely be perfect for you. As it is, I keep on on my front door, one on my back and one in my BOB. You get a fairly narrow beam out the front or a flood from the face with your choice of magnetic, hook or side-balanced positioning. For the $ spent, it's a surprisingly good set of 3 lights. Not made in the USA, considering the cost for 3 of them, that's not surprising

Bright lights
If you are buying these for the magnetic backs find something else. The magnetic backs are weak & come off easily. However, for my purposes I love the hooks in the back & the best & most important feature is the brightness of the lights & these are bright! They are exactly what I was looking for. I have not had them long enough to comment on durability & it is noted that one of the 3 lights came with batteries that were worn out, but since this was not an important factor for me, and the batteries were easy to replace I still give these lights a high rating. The brightness of the lights is the primary reason why these get such a high rating from me with the hook as a great secondary feature.

Handy lights!
Pros: Very bright, the hook makes it hands free, and for the price you can give them to friends and family who need them without breaking the bank.Cons: As many of the other reviews state, the magnet is barely one at all. As a test I stuck it on the fridge and gave it a slight tap on the top. Sure enough, that little tap made it slide all the way down the fridge to the floor. My Advice: Definitely worth the price for 3 LED lights! Great for added light when working in cars or when the power goes out. Just don't expect to use the magnet feature.

Love the modifications made! (see photo of back of light)
I have purchased these twice before. love the modifications they made since my last purchase. Now, you no longer need to search your house for the smallest screwdriver to change the batteries. A modification has been made where you can pull out the middle section of the back cover (which houses the batteries) by hand. Also I used to have to find a pen or something else to pry the hook out. Now, there is a small ball/protrusion on the end of the hook which allows you to use pressure from your thumb to expose the hook. Good job by the manufacturers to listen to customers on these points. Please note that these hooks are sold by various merchants, some include batteries, and some do not.
