If you use recovery strap for your Jeep or 4X4 you need one or two of these . I recommend this.

I have an ARB Dampener as my primary with this as a backup. This one is well made and a good value for money. It also folds up more compact than the ARB for storage. Its shortcoming is that while it has good Velcro at the top and bottom, the top Velcro does not go all the way to the cable so, while unlikely, the cable could more easily recoil through the dampener than the ARB which has Velcro to the top. I mitigated this by carrying a large binder clip to fasten this to the cable which may make it even better than the ARB. Also, I have gone to synthetic line, straps and shackles to keep heavy missiles off the line as much as possible.

I was pleasantly surprised the product is much heavier than I was expecting. There's just enough velcro to hold the flaps together but not overkill. I was a little bummed there's only a "pocket" on one side for dirt/rocks to weigh this down. The edges are reinforced so I think I'll get many uses before it starts coming apart. The reflective strips are a nice touch if you're doing a night recovery.

Nice to have for safety by keeping your winch cable from flying back at you if it ever breaks. The blaze orange color is nice so you don't sit it down and lose it in the woods. A must have for off roading. I keep one on my UTV for when I use the winch.

Seems well made. Wish there was a pocket on both sides, but for the money this will do just fine

I used it last weekend. I'm new to winching, but I used it for safety without issue. It is orange so you won't lose it, it folds up easily when in storage in my ATV, it velcro's around the cable and is easy to use, it appears to have a weight pocket in it to add additional weight (not really certain if that is the intended purpose of that pocket).

No frills winch cable dampener for a good price. Seems like it will hold up as the material is very heavy and sewing/seams are of high quality. As good as any of the other big name off-road branded products at a much better price. Has internal pockets to hold things to weigh it down (rocks, shackles, etc.)

Used it once but it won't be the last.

Simple a utiliser.
