e.l.f. Clean Queen Liquid Brush

I purchased the e.l.f. Clean Queen Liquid Brush & Sponge Cleaner, Gentle Foaming Cleaner For Removing Leftover Makeup, Dirt & Grime, Vegan & Cruelty-Free. I’ve never used a brush cleaner prior to this purchase so, I read the Amazon reviews and found a few short videos on YouTube before I decided on this product. Since I’ve never used a brush cleaning product in the past, I had no expectations of how a liquid would look or feel or how well it would or would not clean my brushes. I also used a silicone makeup brush cleaner mat. The product had a thick feel and had a yellowish tint and I didn't smell any type of fragrance. The product description states the liquid becomes a foam when using and that was true. The instructions state to use a small amount of product and massage through the bristles. Since I’ve never used a product like this, I really didn’t know what a “small amount” was and I discovered that I used too much and it was extremely difficult to rinse it all out. I had to rinse the brushes several times, and I still didn’t get it all out of a couple of brushes and the bristles on those got stiff and I couldn't use them any longer. But this was a learning experience for me. I have always liked e.l.f. products and will continue to use this but definitely with less cleanser. As the saying goes “less is more”. My view with these types of products is to do your research and decide what you think will work best for your needs. And don’t give up if it doesn't work perfectly the first time. It may be that you need to use the product a few times before you figure out the best method.
