Temporary Hair Color Chalks, 12 Count

I've never heard of this stuff before and I wanted a product that I could use to test out different colors before choosing the one to dye my hair. I read all of the reviews and figured why not, seems like a simple enough product to use; so wrong, so very, very wrong! My hair was damp, I twisted my hair and rubbed the chalk on just like it said to, let my hair dry and as recommended by others I used a flat iron to try and set the color in. Here's what went wrong, there was chalk EVERYWHERE!!!!! Not just on my hair, but it transferred to my face, hands, countertop clothes, everything! And the flat iron didn't set the color in whatsoever, every time I tried to run my fingers through my hair they were turned green, so instead of being able to have a cute hairstyle with groovy colors, I had to put my hair up and no one could even see the colored chalk. If I'd let my hair down I would've looked like a rainbow by the end of the night! Plus, the chalk makes your hair feel like straw! So if you're like me and just let your hair flop and you run your fingers through it a lot, this product is not for you! I was afraid that my hair was so dried out that it was going to break off if I touched it! And the icing on the cake was that you have to put a on your pillow to sleep or else you're going to hair a multi colored pillowcase. 1,000 percent DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!

It doesn't show up dark hair, even with water and all of the tips posted here. You'd need to rub so hard that you're definitely damaging your hair. I'd advise against it. You're better off buying those spray bottles of color.

Bought this to use with a costume. I didn't want to buy a spray can of something -- yet I wanted good color. I used this Saturday and was really pleased. The color was bright. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to apply it -- make sure your hair is kind of damp...and then put it on downward. I read that ironing it (I used my flat iron) could make it brighter and it seemed to help though I didn't think it was vital. I ended up with purple hair as I wanted (well just a few stripes) and it looked great. I was nervous about washing it out...and it came right out with my shampoo and was completely gone. Really loved this product. I'm not sure when I'll want to do it again but I won't think twice about using this as it was easy and worked well.

Disappointed. Does not work as I'd hoped. I have dark hair and had to wet both my hair and the chalk before color applied. I'd recommend using gloves because the chalk stained my hands better than my hair. After it has dried DO NOT TOUCH YOUR HAIR! Once dry, the chalk came off easily on my hands, clothes, in the breeze, etc. I applied only a streak to my hair in the a.m. and it was almost completely gone my lunchtime, even with me avoiding running my hands through my hair like I often do. I tried sealing with a flat iron but all the chalk just rubbed off leaving nothing in my hair and a mess on my iron.

Love these! They worked great, and I got tons of complements of my hair. Washed out easily after my fling!

I was surprised to see that the colors looked like literal pieces of chalk, but figured to give it a shot anyway because of the beautiful colors. Nope, no matter how closely I followed the directions I still was unable to even shade my son's mohawk any of the colors I tried. He has very little hair and the chalk still wore down fast without providing any sort of color, let alone a "vibrant" color. I'm sad to say this stuff is total junk, go with the metallic chalk instead- works MUCH better than this poor product.
