The black kubaton is a newer version with more ridges on it. A kubaton makes a great non-lethal self-defense weapon because it can be used to jab, poke, stick or strike an attacker in a vulnerable body part. Using this weapon to strike a hard bony part such as the head, wrist, top of the hand or shin, or jab a soft part of the body such as an eye, neck, throat, underarm, bicep or solar plexus to cause considerable discomfort and/or pain. These kubatons also have a key ring, so you can use this as a weapon by holding onto the kubaton and swinging your keys around to strike your attacker. That'll leave a mark!
