The Art of Eating Through the Zombie Apocalypse: A Cookbook and Culinary Survival Guide [Wilson, Lauren, Bauthus, Kristian] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Art of Eating Through the Zombie Apocalypse: A Cookbook and Culinary Survival Guide Review: awesome book...very entertaining and informative..beautifully done - In my search of cookbooks I came across this. Oh I thought it would be a cute novelty piece to flip through, YET it has tid bits of information on ALL I wanted to know!!! If I want to step deeper into a subject (as Mead making, bee keeping, foraging) I will get a more detailed book on the subject. This BOOK is FUNNY at the same time informative. The recipes dont look bad and I am going to use them!! Many many questions I had (elementary I am sure) are covered here. There are recipes to use if you can eat out of your cupboard. What, no stock left?!? well then here is an intro to fishing traps, bleeding out, skinning, cleaning, making stove hacks with found materials..Don't have a temperature gauge? np use the "hand method"- there is a chart. Got a kitchen still? it will tell you how to keep it clean and even make soap. Hey, raise some meal worms then cook up some "mealworm fried rice"! I wont this week, but I learned never to say never. Author Laura Wilson needs to seriously break down each chapter and write a separate detailed book on every area- what an awesome set of books that would be. Great book Laura. Kristian Bauthus did awesome illustrating here.I highly recommend this book..ooo and what is that cover made of? It feels sooo good...maybe made so zombie sludge will slide right off? My favorite quote in the book "Failure to prepare to survive is a decision NOT to survive". (cl hendricks) Review: 2020: The year zombies seem like a real possibility - This is the most entertaining prepper book you are going to find, while still offering a lot of information. I disagree with some reviewers that say it is too “basic”. I felt it covered all the aspects of foraging, building stoves, hunting, fishing etc, but in a way, that if you were really getting chased down by zombies, you wouldn’t have to read 100 pages to find your answer! I also like the colorful illustrations. This is the type of prepper book that I wouldn’t be afraid to leave out on my coffee table, because it has some pop culture appeal to it. More than just lists about what to stock your pantry with. I felt like a lot of books on the subject all contained that same information, but this one includes recipes on WHAT to actually cook from your stockpile. I doubt googling recipes is going to be an option if worse comes to worst, so having some easy recipes on paper seems like a good idea. I almost didn’t purchase this book, but now I’m glad I did! Don’t let the humorous cover keep you from adding this to your library, it really does have actual, useful information in it!

2020: The year zombies seem like a real possibility

Great beginner survival/cookbook
I initially bought this book because I love the theme. I love the style of the illustrations and the layout of it. The pages are high quality color. Upon reading it, not only is this a cook book but also a survival manual. It doesn’t go to extreme details so if you are a survivalist/prepper you probably already know most of what is in this book. If you are a prepper/survivalist then this book would make a great gifts for teenagers maybe some younger kids depending on their level of maturity. It will also be good for the beginner prepper. I liked this book so much I bought one for my siblings. I definitely recommend this to all my friends.

Pretty good survival guide.
For a cookbook, it's so-so, especially paired with the occasional, unappetizing (comic-book style) images of zombies biting people's heads off. However, as a "get-your act together for an emergency" book, it's pretty darn thorough. Of course, the emphasis is on food, so some other survival skills are only mentioned in general, but it's none-the-less a light-hearted way to prepare for at least the meal parts of an apocalypse - from the human, not the zombie, point of view.

Nice book for teenage preppers
I thought my grandson would enjoy this while learning some survival skills. He's very interested in this and the zombie theme makes it quirky. Hopefully there's nothing too gross in there

Intro to prepping in non-threatening way
This is a good book if you want to get someone interested in prepping. All peppers need to learn how to build a fire and cooking platform, source food safely and humanely, to season it, to make the best of what you have. I like how the recipes show ways you can make the recipes now ahead of time, so you can, for example, know how to bake without commercial yeast now so if you have to do it in a survival situation, you're not stressed. I liked the emphasis on simple ingredients that pack a nutritional punch. Obviously, this isn't going to cover all topics, so the text suggests other books to expand your knowledge.

Not to be vulgar
Not to fellate Lauren Wilson and Kristian Bauthus too hard, but they wrote and illustrated an excellent book. It introduces the concepts of post apocalyptic food gathering, production, and preservation with just the right amount of whimsy to keep the reader engaged. It’s well worth the $17 I paid for it (twice), and we’ll worth the read; as, even if you don’t like it, it has the same virtue as a Wikipedia article in that the numerous sources are cited within the body and in asides.

Shambling Good Time With Some Great Natural Disaster/Prep Advice
This is a very informative book that can be used as a reference guide to prepping for everything from earthquakes/derecho's/not having running water for a week (been there, got the t-shirt) to an all out apocalypse - Zombie or otherwise. There is some really great advice in here for every day living as well and shows you ways to creatively make do on very little when you're caught unawares by nature or the undead :) The humor is very entertaining and the book is well thought out. Do yourself a favor and get the hard copy - because when the zombies take over, there will be no way to charge your kindle. Just saying.

I'm a huge fan of the zombie genre and also a survivalist so in short I love this book. It has useful tips for basic survival, tips for growing, catching and foraging food as well as a bunch of appetizing recipes. The mood is kept light and entertaining with the backdrop of the zompocalypse but the information is valid for almost any major disaster and resulting disruption of the food delivery network we have in place now. Not an all-encompassing survival manual but a great addition to your end of the world library.

This book is good fun, reminds me a lot of the Max Brooks book (Zombie Survival Guide) but obviously this focuses on the eating and where, what and how to eat. Anyone who is a fan of the genre should enjoy this, its playful, funny and yet it can be tremendously insightful and thought provoking. A must for the savvy prepper.
