I found the flavor and texture of these pecan rolls, entirely disappointing.
What a discouraging order.The product itself tastes bitter and has a dry and mealy texture. It does not taste fresh.(Part of my disappointment is due to my own negligence in not checking the return policy before ordering! Since I am normally so satisfied with whatever I order from Amazon, and since I have not had any issue with the couple of things I have had to return over the years, I only looked at the product reviews and neglected to check the return policy on this family made confection - which it turns out is:“Not eligible for return” :-( . )While the packaging was excellent, and it was even stamped with a very recent freshness date on it, which I was initially very tickled to see, as my intention was to send a few to two separate family members for Christmas treats; the one (out of 6 units) that I cut up to share with my husband, in order to make sure these would be a delicious treat for 2 family members that happen to be allergic to chocolate, I cannot give them after all.I had originally hoped to gladly send special treats - now, I will not send them at all! (These will not be sent as Christmas treats - too embarrassing to present as something delightful.)As I mentioned, the pecan bits are dry and mealy and bitter, not sweet as one expects pecans to be, the nougat is dry and grainy, not soft and luscious and the very thin caramel coating is also dry and grainy, not chewy and gooey, as I always expect any caramel to be.I find this to be a sad order.However, lesson learned - Always check the return policy before ordering - these were not cheap confections!

The nugget middle filling is hard and has the taste as if it is old/expired.

Delicious almost to the point of addiction
Good: OMG these things taste good. So much so that I had to turn the box over to my wife with instructions to ration out a couple bites a day, lest I devour the entire box in an evening.Bad: Nothing, really, except for the potential for a massive sugar buzz and tummyache.Bottom line: Tasty, and a good self-control exercise. Five stars.
