Meditations with Hildegard of Bingen

This book is exactly what I had been looking for. Hildegard writes with such inspiration, grace and passion that is hard to find elsewhere. Her writing is uniquely her own. Since it can sometimes be hard to find Hildegard's writings (especially for a good price), I would say get this one if you are thinking about it. Also, I got my book used and it came in good condition.The only downside is I wish it was longer! The book itself is pretty short. Once you start reading, you want to absorb more and more of her reflections and writing.I highly recommend it.

I found one poem in the book to be outstanding. I wanted this book to understand better Hildegard's faith through nature.

This was a gift for a friend and she loves it. If you like Hildegard, I would recommend this book.

All Mystics fascinate me because views are so similar, though expressed differently.

If you've never heard of Hildegard, you don't know what you're missing. She is time-less, and the writing is heart-felt and moving.

My issue is with the contents of this book.Perhaps because it was recommend to me by a person I hold in exceedingly high regard,who is not only a practicing Catholic,but is also spiritual: I had HIGH expectations.Were they met? No.The text in this books, to me, is akin to pedestrian dribble.It was plain. It was bland. It was very mediocre. (You get my point.)Unextraordinary.Am disappointed with most of the writing in this book.If on the other hand, you are familiar with this person's writing and are a fan, this may be a lovely book for you to own.I will one more time scour the book and see if there are any redeeming poems, for ME,otherwise I will gladly donate it. I don't need my books collecting dust.
