(Author) Review: Not what I expected. - OK, I guess I was a bit naive to expect an entire World Book Encyclopedia set for $5.00, but since the picture showed a 22 volume set, and the seller did not specify that it was not an entire set, and since it was a 1988 edition, (which I consider to be equivalent to a yard sale item), I thought it would be reasonable to assume that it was, indeed, a set of older, used, encyclopedias, worth about $5.00. I especially was impressed by the fact that the seller was desertcart approved, with a high satisfaction rating. However, I was very disappointed when I received my "World Book", only to find that it was just the "S" volume. That was it. Only one book. I suppose that it was my fault for expecting more, and for not fully researching the item, but after all, nowhere was it advertised that it was not a complete set. Thankfully, I was able to return it for a refund, but I am disappointed in the fact that the desertcart employee whom I contacted on the Chat site promised me that I would receive a set of encyclopedias in return for my returning the book. I thought that it was a bit suspicious, since the return label clearly stated that I would receive a standard refund. Well, I did receive a refund, for which I am grateful, but I only wish that #1, the seller had been more explicit in their description, and #2, the desertcart employee had been more honest in explaining to me that I was not entitled to a set, because I had inadvertently bought only one volume. So the moral of the story is, I guess, if it seems too good to be true, it probably isn't. Review: Oustanding for the price. I have to remove Library ... - Oustanding for the price. I have to remove Library stickers but cannot complain about paying $75 for a complete Encyclopedia set. As the Internet continues to change well established definitions of words and historical events, a traditional Encyclopedia is an invaluable resource.

Confused
I thought it would be a paper back collection but it was only the 1 encyclopedia (P) I am not happy but I will just keep it. A lesson learned. It is in great condition I must say!

Terrible product description
Terrible product description. Shameful for Amazon to display it like this. I recieved "L". There is nowhere in the description that said I'd get just one volume and certainly no where it said what letter. It goes back. I'll get my money back. Don't be mislead. You get one book.

What a deeper ! My children don't do much internet research, so this is perfect.

Feel cheated
Were misleaded by the photograph, I dont know if it was on purpose. I thought I would receive all books on the encyclopedia, just received one.

A Must have for any house
The world book is one of the greatest pieces of literature ever written throughout the history of mankind. It is a thorough compelation of everything a person needs to know. I read the book everynight, and its deep characters and intense plots captivate my children. It is a great reference book for school work, and mere curiosity. My children love to delve in between the lines of text of the World Book. And their curiosity and desire to attain knowledge is well fed by the World Book. It is a great resource for anyone to have, and truly encourages children and adults alike to learn the most they can about the world around them

misleading product picture, its only for one book

Waiting for the whole set
Only one book was supplied instead of the whole set. When informed, the seller promptly returned the money and did not ask for the return of the volume. However as I do not have use for the single book, ( its the volume of C) anyone who is reading this may take it from me: free, of course.
