Peated Select Cask is a bottled whisky from Paul John. Based in Goa, India, it is produced using peat which has been specially imported from Scotland as there is none in India. Bottling took place in 2013 at cask strength. Gleaming mahogany in colour, rich smoky bacon aromas mingle with intense peat and a hint of eucalyptus which is balanced with a rich Demerara undercurrent. Subtle sweetness on the palate is followed by peaty, malty, smoky depths with a hint of fresh barley, followed by vanilla and toasted fudge, making for a complex and lingering finish.
