Quality filter
Like these Wix cabin air filters. I like that they are antimicrobial, always fit well and do a good job filtering the air. I can buy them on Amazon for half the price of my local stores. Since Wix filters were bought out a few years ago. I don't like the fact the filters are now made in China.

Fits fine and cost was less than I found locally

Much more cost effective to OEM and work just as well
I have a Mercury Milan Premier (v6 flex fuel) and there aren't many non-OEM options for cabin air filters out there. There certainly aren't any available in local chain type stores (since none of the ones by me carry the Ford ones anyway). I've purchased a few of these Wix filters from Amazon and I have no complaints. They fit perfectly and perform very well in my car. It looks like the OEM ones have gone down in price and they are available on Amazon (they weren't originally when I got my car), but these are still over $7 from that price and almost 1/3 of list price on those with no noticeable difference in performance, so I'd recommend them over OEM for sure. The box recommends replacing these every 12,000 miles and I do so at around that or just a little more (every other oil change and those can run anywhere from 6000-7500 depending on driving conditions each). If you're a low mileage driver this would be once a year, but I'd say a good bet is 12,000 miles or 1 year (whichever comes first). These are well made and fit great. They trap the craziest dirt and particles in them and I have heard of people just shaking them clean or using an air compressor to blow out large particles, but they really do trap a lot of dust and pollen in the filter fins and I would highly suggest spending the $10 or so a year to replace it. It's not worth saving a few dollars to aggravate your health or gum up your ventilation of your car. I'm a big fan of preventative maintenance on vehicles as it saves you bigger repairs down the road and this is no exception.I really believe just about anyone could do this job, even even if you're not a person that changes your own oil, you can do this filter replacement easily on your own. I was going to explain how to do it, but there's a great video on YouTube that has a well made tutorial, so I'll just link that instead.[...] (If for some reason the link is not included, search for "Cabin air filter replacement- Ford Fusion" and it is on the "filterheads" channel).

Buy this for your 2010-2012 Ford Fusion!
This is an exact replacement for the cabin filter in a 2011 Ford Fusion. I just bought the car, so I had no idea how long it had been since either the cabin or air intake filter were replaced. After watching a tutorial on Youtube, I ordered this filter, along with an air filter--https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VKYRR6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The removal of the old and installation of the new are hampered by a metal cylindrical part that you need to maneuver the filter around; not impossible, but a little coaxing and finesse will be required.I have to say I wasn't ready for the amount of crud that I found trapped in the "old" filter! There is obviously a need for the filter, and it certainly did its job to block dust and pollens.Again, not knowing how long it had been since this filter had been changed, I'm thinking the answer might be "this is the first time in six years".I'm going to check the condition of it in three months just to get a baseline for its performance, and for now the air inside the car smells much fresher!

The filter is fine but when I gained access to the point of installation there was no place to install it and it did not have any existing filter. So I have a new filter with no place to install it.

Change your cabin filters! (if your car has them)
I have had this filter on my wish list for quite some time and when I heard my Brother-in-law's story of when they changed their's out, I ordered this ASAP. The one I removed from my Fusion was pretty dark and FILLED with debris between the pleats. I notice a small amount of increase air flow, but more so am just happy that it is a cleaner air that we are breathing inside the car.
