Worked easily to break my chain
I used this to break a heavy duty 428 chain. It worked very easily. I did grind the heads of the rivets, as suggested in several online forums, which made it much easier.

Excellent equipment
Firstly, I received a broken one. I made a hostile review. They promptly replaced it, so now I rescind.I have used an identical unit for years (gate operators). I busted it due to abuse. Contrary to popular practice, these actually notched up in quality. Thank you! 😊 #please forgive

Worked great
Worked fine on removing a pin from my DID 520 chain that came stock on a KLR650. Easy to use with a standard size combo wrench, and is small enough to keep in a tool kit on the bike. I can’t speak for durability because I used it one time to remove the original chain for replacement.

Great value
Fairly easy to use, but need a little more instruction for novice users. had I not known what to do, it would have been tougher to use.

It easily pushed the riveted post through my 530 chain
It easily pushed the riveted post through my 530 chain. After it began to get difficult to turn, I did release the tool once to make sure it was pushing in the center of the riveted post, which it was, then tightened it back up and finished removing the post. It didn't quite remove the post all the way though. I used some pliers to work it out the little bit it was still stuck in the plate. Not a big deal. I did not grind the rivet down prior to pushing it out either. The tool worked well all on its own.

I wish that is worked but it snapped in half.
I wish that this worked as I planned on changing out my chain last weekend.I mounted it, tightened it down, and started twisting the pin. I heard some popping noises which I assumed was the pin moving. I checked everything to make sure it was aligned and kept tightening. The first thing to give was the body and the entire thing snapped in half with the top half and the spring falling unceremoniously on my garage floor. Now, the tool was stuck on the chain so I was in a worse position than before. I got an old tile cutter out of the basement and sawed through the chain to remove it. Now I'm not sure how to remove the tool from the chain to send it back. Do I mail them the entire chain or just the broken off top half?Like I said, I would have loved for this to work but alas, it did not.

WORTH THE MONEY!
Worked just fine on a 520 chain. I grinded one side of the chain down flush with the face plate then used this tool to easily push the pin through with ease. It was so easy. Definitely worth the money.

I would recommend this product
This tool works for what it is intended to do. I also have the Motion Pro 08-0058 Chain Breaker and Riveting Tool, but I have broken the pins while trying to break a chain. This tool seems to be more durable and easier to use in general. Even though the pins for the other tool are only $8 or so, I think that getting this dedicated tool is well worth the extra money. I would recommend this product.
