I gave this book as a gift to an artist. She loves it and shared that the book really opened up her mind to the culture and appreciation for the lifestyle and expression of the Polynesian and South Pacific Island peoples and their art.

I have a friend who is interested in getting a tattoo and wanted to know more about the significance of various Polynesian tatoos so I purchased this book for her as it has great information to help her make a decision.

The introduction to each style helps understand its purpose and characteristics, but I think that the real added value is in the lists of symbols and usage samples. If you're looking for a book that lists the symbols, their meanings and how to use them in a tattoo, this is probably it!

Good follow up to the first volume. For artists who want to do some justice to cultural significance in regards to polynesian, marquesian, etc.

Interesting read with history and insight into tattoo origins of Polynesian people groups! I recently got a Marquesan tattoo and wanted to learn more about the symbols. This book helped me to understand the various design concepts.

Very informative. Lots of info and easy to read as a reference to Polynesian tattoos.
