great calipers; I use them as part of my bike kit
If you work with multiple bicycles, you know it can be a hassle figuring out what diameter seat tube each one has, or top tube, or whatever. Simple repairs can be nightmares if you have parts that are 1mm off. Enter the calipers! They've saved me much grief in the last four years. Note that the LR44 battery that it uses can be replaced with a size 357 if you need. And, lf course, it works perfectly well without the battery if you have good enough eyesight to read the ruler on the side of the calipers directly.

Excellent precise 4-inch digital caliper with smooth sliding action; a great balance of price, quality, accuracy, and durability
இ Fuzzy Wuzzy's Summary:ѾѾѾѾѾ Highly recommended with warm fuzzies!I have been using this Chicago Brand model 50013 4-inch digital caliper for the past six years to create jewelry and kiln-fired glass bracelets, and it has been quietly working flawlessly all these years. This precision tool comes inside its own rigid plastic storage box with a molded form-fitting foam insert that securely holds the caliper along with a molded opening for holding a spare battery. The box includes a spare battery, so you actually get two batteries with this caliper. It uses a SR44 or Type 357 battery, but you may also be able to use an alkaline LR44 battery which is the same size as a SR44 silver oxide battery, with the differences being that the LR44 is 150 mAh 1.50 volts and the SR44 is of slightly higher capacity at 200 mAh 1.55 volts. This caliper can operate until the battery voltage drops below 1.1 volts. This digital caliper sparingly sips battery juice, so you will likely get at least two or three years of weekly usage out of each new battery. As with any precision measuring tool like this, you should exercise extra care not to drop this caliper onto a hard surface, especially since the digital readout and buttons are housed in plastic. The jaws and ruler are made of hardened stainless steel.Proper measurement using this digital caliper depends upon its jaws just touching the objects being measured and not forcing the jaws in the least bit. This digital caliper has a smooth sliding action to facilitate precise jaw placement. It is easy to zero and it memorizes its last-used position when you turn it off so that you do not have to re-zero after later turning it back on. Even if the jaws were moved while it was turned off (e.g. you close the jaws to store the caliper inside its fitted carrying case), it retains its previous slider position in its memory. If you do not need a larger-sized caliper, this is an excellent tool at a very competitive price. Be very wary of purchasing a digital caliper that only costs $20 to $25 because those are usually low-grade junk. There are also 4-inch digital calipers that cost twice as much as this one, but they still have the same 0.001" accuracy and 0.0005" resolution.

Great pair of small calipers
I purchased this caliper for light use, and it has absolutely satisfied the need. It is nice and small and appears to be very sturdy and built well. It feels like a high quality tool. As it is a measurement tool it should be treated with care; and with the appropriate care I imagine it will last a very long time. The case that is included provides perfect storage. This is the highest quality, small (4"), caliper that I have seen.
