GEWR17X12079 Genuine OEM Ice Bucket Assembly (White) for GE Refrigerators

Oh the problems with this ice bucket. I would give zero stars if I could.Number 1, it’s not even the model listed. It’s completely different (see attached photos).Number 2, it’s made almost entirely of cheap plastic parts. While my actual GE bucket is hefty and sturdy, this is an ice bucket made of the same plastic used in dollar store toys.To think I was getting a deal....Returning immediately and buying elsewhere!

I was going to buy repair parts for the bucket auger, but this assembly was simply too easy! The low rating is not a reflection upon the vendor, but expresses my disappointment with many components of our GE Profile Side-By-Side. The water side is especially flawed; I've replaced two ice makers, this bucket assembly, the "flapper solenoid assembly" in the door, the water valves, the filter holder, and the water tubes.So although this replacement part is working today, I have no confidence that it will not fail tomorrow!

Ordered and received next day. For Refrigerator model # PSW23PSSCSS the fitment guide said it was not a direct fit. Go to GE Appliance parts web site and get the updated part number from them before ordering.No damage in shipping and it exactly matches the photo.

Purchased this replacement when the plastic sleeve failed on the ice bucket originally supplied with the refrigerator. Based on several reviews suggesting that attempting to replace only the plastic sleeve was marginally successful at best, I opted to replace the entire ice bucket unit. The new unit is a direct replacement and works well. A benefit is that the new unit also has new chopping blades which improves crushing of ice with less resistance (one reason sleeve likely failed over time).Only negative is the price - as with any replacement part, this is very expensive considering it is only inexpensive plastic and metal components.

The ice bucket arrived in GE packaging and fit perfectly in my freezer. The only difference is no branding on the front like the original. It's nice to have the ice delivered from the door and crushed ice again.

Perfect replacement for our OEM one for our GE Profile refrigerator. A bit expensive for what you get.

I purchased this in February and it stopped working a couple days ago. It turns but will not dispense ice, cubed or crushed. I messed with it for awhile and got it to work a couple times, but that was it. I was hoping for more than 4 months of operation.

I recently bought a home and the ice maker in the freezer was leaking. This solved my problem. Very easy to install.
