Just works!
This is a great little amp/dac. I picked this up over the HiFiBerry because of delivery in lockdown. It is for a small bathroom with a pair of 'Bassface SPL4.2 200w 4" Inch 10cm Waterproof speakers' and works great, loads of power for the room and quility of the sound is great. I used a 19V laptop charger (65W) to power the amp and pi.

Great tunes
This is now sat on a raspberry pi on top a cupboard in my kitchen serving tunes to my ceiling speakers via airplay from my phone. Excellent piece of kit. Just one drawback is if you use high quality speaker cable it's not easy to get them in the attached slots, they are a bit small.

Very impressive
Really good, brought new life into my decorative speakers. I've teamed mine with a Pi3 model A, £17.Impressive set up for the cost.Slight negative, with PiMusicbox when you pump it up goes savage loud.

Let down by poor design
This add-on HAT for the Raspberry Pi had the potential to be quite interesting, particularly since it's about half the price of other Pi HAT amps, but it's let down by some poor design faults.Firstly I thought it might come with risers to stabilise the HAT once it's fitted: it doesn't. This means that the power lead and speaker leads apply pressure to GPIO pins which are unsupported. Not good.Secondly the holes for speaker cabling are *incredibly* tiny. If you use any sort of decent thick cable, you're not going to be able to connect them to this, and don't even try with banana plugs. I had to widen the holes with a blade, but this is still not satisfactory. Another poor design flaw.It doesn't come with any power supply, but it takes a 5.5 x 2.5 mm connector, so its easy to find one suitable. I got a "Lavolta 80W laptop charger" and it does the trick. Take care when setting up - there's no volume switch, and the default is VERY LOUD - as in "blow your speakers up" loud! However it's cheap, it works, has a pretty punchy sound and is eminently powerful enough for even my big Rogers LS7s, so it gets 3 stars, but a few small changes could have made it even better.

Lovely sound
I am not an audiophile but to me this is a great sounding amp. And the fact that it sits on the Pi makes it nice and neat.I have it working with Volumio. And I love the sound. Music sounds so much better now

Great quality and cheap. Standoffs are quality.
Bit fiddly to set-up but only takes 5 mins,

It's a nice little case for the RPi and the amp
A bit of a so-and-so to put together and no instructions, so I've taken off a star. But it looks nice and it fits beautifully.
