The base of the chair appears in the picture that it's black, or at least dark, which is what I was going towards. I do not see anything in the description to indicate that it's silver other than stating chrome, and the color is pretty, but a lot lighter than shown.. so a bit disappointed that it's not what was pictured.

these chairs are comfortable for a short period of time. The only thing I foot to check was the weight limit on them. I would not suggest them for anyone over 225 pounds. I got them because they were different and make my new ray and white kitchen POP.
