If you are a Gshock fan, you know this product already. If you are reading this review, you are most likely to buy this shortly or you are wanting to buy this beast. Well, i am a watch lover and i am picky with my watches. My largest collection are G Shock watches. I like them for their practicality and ruggedness. I always tend to band my watch against the wall or the door and with G Shock i never have to worry. Coming to GWG 1000, it is a fantastic watch and a must have with a G Shock Fan. It is a big watch but suits well on me. I have wrist of 7inch. I think this is something everyone has to check out themselves. I have seen that most watches suit my hand and personality and hence i am not too bothered but you should probably check this out at a local store near you and then take a plunge. It is surely a big watch. Coming to the movement, it’s a quartz and we all know that Quartz is the most accurate. However, i have done a real time check and i am losing about one second in about 2-3 days which is fabulous. Adding to that, this watch has radio controlled time keeping (Atomic Timekeeping). I live in North America but the place where i live, there is no signal and hence i use an app on my phone which is ¨Clock Sync and it does the job fantastically for me. Even when you are in India, you can use this app and it will perfectly sync your watch with the local time on your phone. I love this and after owning this watch, I am kind of getting nerdy with timekeeping. I always try to keep my watch as accurate as possible (Call me mad but that’s the whole experience of knowing that your watch is accurate to the last millisecond gives you a sense of satisfaction).Well, what more. The watch comes with a sapphire glass and the readability is excellent. After buying this watch, I have consciously decided that all my watches that I buy from here on will only be with Sapphire glass. Coming to the battery, this one is a Solar Powered. When I received this watch, it was charged at Medium. It took me a couple of weeks of exposure to get it to high. What I did was that every day afternoon during lunch, I would find a spot where there is direct sunlight and the watch was kept there between 15min – 30 min. It took the watch about a week of this exercise to get to high. Also, the exposure of about 10 min in sun everyday will take care of the charging (You practically will not have to do anything, it is pretty much a process which happens automatically).The dial of this watch is a beauty. I have taken the model 1AR3 which is Military Green strap and subtle yellow on the dial. The markers are luminescent and glow in the dark. It’s not the best but there are times in the night when I wake in total darkness and I see gentle lum on the dial which is impressive. It is not very bright but a very subtle glow. I personally like it.You must be already aware of the tons of function this watch comes with and I don’t want to repeat that again here. Overall a good value for money watch (Some of you might say that it is expensive but trust me, what you get for your money is worth it). If you are on the edge to buy this watch, I would rather ask you to take the plunge and buy one for yourself.

Been a few months now that I've been using it. Taken it on multiple trips. International and domestic. The functions work as advertised, very light weight, bulky though, duh, it's a G- shock. I received it at medium charge, took me about a week's usage for it charged up to high. Solar charging is a blessing and works like a charm. Barometer is accurate, I have checked it with a reference barometer. Altimeter works well too. Haven't had a chance to really test out the thermometer yet. World time and dual time view is great with great visibility. Sturdy, water proof and everything you expect from a mudmaster and more.

This is a very stylish watch that has almost everything (no blue-tooth or GPS controlled) . To mention a few:1. Water resistant2. Tough solar3. Mud resist4. Altimeter measurement5. Barometer measurement6. Temperature measurement7. Sapphire crystal (which is considered to be very hard and scratch resistant)8. Radio controlled signal (or Wave ceptor)The last point, that is, radio controlled watches (like this one) is the most accurate time keeping system, doesn't require any setting of time, date and month. It automatically synchronizes the above all, through radio controlled signals. Unfortunately, only five countries have this radio controlled signal transmitters, viz., Japan, China, United States, United Kingdom and Germany. Unfortunately, India is one of the many countries that doesn't receive signals from any of the above 5 countries. But don't worry. There is a way around to make this watch to automatically synchronize the time to the smart mobile phone timings. For this you need to do two things:(a) Set the watch timings to any one of the above 5 countries timings.(b) Download the JJY Emulator application in "Google Play Store". Open/Run it. The timings shown in this application is exactly the mobile timings (which is synchronized to IST).Now if you hold the mobile speaker (with volume as much as possible) near to this watch (Meanwhile the radio controlled signal reception option should be enabled, manually), within a minute or two, your watch automatically sets the time and date to the mobile timings! Even though this watch itself is very accurate in time keeping, if you are very particular about the accuracy of the timings, you can do this synchronization once in a month or so!

Love the fit and after 6 months of rough use, I would say this is an amazing piece of technology in works. This is made in Japan and everything about this watch is just brilliant. This is big, heavy watch, for those that don't like either of this just be aware. The straps are not cheap stuff, they sit around the wrist quite well and this watch surely catches the attention of onlookers. All the other technicalities of the watch is true, i have tried all of them and it works quite well. Have money, buy it, flaunt it and treasure it.

I've owned Casio watches before, but this one takes the cake! First of all, this watch does "everything". I spend a lot of time in the outdoors and this watch is built TOUGH! The Compass feature worked great right out of the box and I've had to use it several times in unfamiliar territory while elk hunting in the mountains and it worked great. The Barometer is also quite accurate when comparing it to what the Weather Forecasts report and the Altimeter is also "spot on" when comparing the read out to area topographical maps. Time keeping is excellent and it also resets itself when I fly across country. Love the sapphire crystal for its toughness and also love the Tough Solar features incorporated into this model. I've used this watch in all types of extreme weather and conditions and I can't say anything negative about it at all. This watch also looks really cool. I've had a number of people comment about how it looks. I also own a Casio Pro-Trek which is another good looking and outstanding functioning watch, but the Mudmaster GWG-1000-1A3DR is the watch I actually wear everyday. This watch, IMHO is the total package

The real mud master everything works perfectly, couldn't be happier

Received my gwg1000 and it’s amazing...!!!!It’s on the larger side of watches.. but fits perfectly on my 7.5” wrist. The build quality is second to none... I usually wear higher end automatics like sinn, marathon Csar, bell & ross and others. This watch seemed a little on the pricey side for a g-shock watch.. and was a bit skeptical on initial order. If anyone has doubts about purchasing this gwg1000...it’s a beautiful watch.. and couldn’t be happier. I have read that the lume is poor... not true...! I charged lume at night and lume lasted for hours... it did dim some but glow was still visible after hours. Back light is very well lit up when needed.. watch is very light and of coarse built like a tank. All functions work as intended.... overall super pleased.Joe
