Not worth the wait
I currently own and operate about 8 timelapse Cameras. An update is so long overdue from Brinno and this is what they came up with? Image quality is better than the hugely outdated 720P model, but not much.We are used to seeing 4K routinely now even on phones, so I assumed if they are selling 1080P today it must at least have decent optics and sensor. It doesn’t. Think cheap 1080 webcam. The already bad menus are worse, still no connectivity of any kind, not even Bluetooth for setup. When will they realise a tiny screen on the back of the camera is pointless, 9 times out of 10 you can’t see it anyway due to location, and even when you can it’s too small and vague to be any use. Drop it and add Bluetooth or Wi-Fi for setup instead, which would also kill off the terrible menus. The only option is to still plug a USB connected laptop in to setup the camera. This really isn’t good enough any more. At a minimum, support connecting a phone or tablet instead of (as well as?) a laptop if you insist on a medieval wired connection.I deeply regret giving Brinno another chance and buying this thing and it’s overpriced battery enclosure that is clearly required due to the idiotic battery life provided by 2 AA batteries, in fairness I know the 2020 has 4 not 2 but even so.A real missed opportunity. For the avoidance of doubt, I don’t like this unit.
