These are pretty good. They would probably be good if you wanted to paint them. I ordered them because I wanted to do woodburn designs on them and they were not good for that. I don't know if they have some type of coating or finish on them, but the fumes when trying to wood burn them gave me a terrible headache. Some came pretty beat up and broken, which I expected because I saw other people mention that in their review too.

The slices are very smooth with nicely placed holes. A few of the slices had cracks but (to me) this is expected with natural wood. And yep the reindeer in the picture is of center to the hole, it was my first one and I did not pay attention. I got better. ;)

I would say about 30% of the wood pieces are cracked, for the price I knew I was not going to get the best quality, but I was not expecting such thin fragile pieces. I would definitely spend a few extra dollars and buy from elsewhere.

5 or so arrived cracked but I didn't mind too much because I bought more than I needed for my project. Some of the bark fell off but I think it just adds to the rustic feel. They are very uniform in size and shape and were exactly what I wanted for making ornaments.

Used these to make ornaments for Christmas!! Very happy with the sizes (almost all uniform) and they held up well!

The overall product was as described. They worked well for the project we were doing but was disappointed that several arrived damaged.

These were great for decoupage! I used them to attach to presents for Christmas.
