I just put it up and my TV came alive!
After much research, I settled on this antenna. I live 42 miles from the Houston area transmission source, so I was concerned about the signal quality. I installed it on a 13' tall mast that I had on hand, and as soon as I hooked up the antenna and estimated at the direction that it needed to be pointed, I started a channel search and ended up with about 42 channels, all of which were coming in with a beautiful HD signal and picture, even though half of them were oriental or Spanish speaking channels, which I have no use for. I was actually surprised to find that I didn't need a pre-amplifier, to pull in such great reception. I can't speak as to how well this antenna will last, but I'm definitely pleased with the crystal clear HD reception that it's pulling in, right from the start.

Great antenna. works well for me at 40 miles.
Antanna woks very well. I'm about 40 miles from transmitterI'm in So. Ogden with a AntennaCraft HBU55 145" High-Band VHF/UHF about 40 miles from the transmitter on the oquirr mountains and love it. There are other very comparable antannas on the market that will work identically. I recieve approx 35 maybe more channels all with excellent quality. The antenna arrived slightly damaged shipping box was damaged and antenna was damaged ( the head end was obviously bent about a third of the way from the front tip ) The antenna was very long.. read the specs.. I do not feel this affected the performance of the ant. and it could have been done by the shipper, I honestly have no idea. How could I know? I didn't try to return it, I used it instead. and again it works awesome! I actually have another antenna of larger size ( wider elements for low freq's ) and it's virtually identical reception wise as far as I can tell.

High Quality, Easy Assembly, Works Great
I got tired of paying my local cable company 18 dollars a month for channels that I could get over the air for free. I bought this, put it in my attic, aimed it at my local TV station, and Bob's your Uncle. It will pay for itself in less than half a year.

"Like new condition" for used is a false claim.
Used antenna said "Like new condition.". It came in a beat up box, antenna was bent, one thread was stripped so I couldn't put a bolt on it. Some parts were missing from antenna. I understand buying used I can't expect things perfect but I assumed $12 less than brand new for like new was worth it. I'm disappointed and this is something that is large and difficult to repack and return, especially when it came in a jimmy rigged box. Doesn't work as well as expected.

Excellent Antenna and well balanced for its length
We live way out in the country, back in the mountains, so we got the biggest antenna we could find. We got this one because we did not need the low band channels and this one is much slimmer being hi band. We mounted it on our roof top and pointed it in the general direction of the local stations. We picked up 14 channels right off the bat. We are installing a rotor on it today and expect to pick up several more stations in another direction. We manually turned it and picked up an additional seven channels, which is the reason for the rotor. We are very happy to do away with the stupid high satellite pay TV and will never go back. Free is the only way to go and this is the antenna to do it with, very pleased!

Would Recommend To Anyone
We set our antenna on a tower about 25 feet high and we get all the available channels for our area. ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, Fox and some religious channgel. The Fox channel is broadcasted from a low watt tower over 75 miles away and it comes in perfect. I know other people in our town stuggle to get this channel at all so we are very happy with the HBU55. If you are in a rural area where the towers are over 70 miles away I would recommend spending the few extra bucks to get the HBU55.

OK, but not as great as expected
I was frustrated with increases in cable prices and finally got fed-up and cancelled it. I researched several different antenna's before purchasing this one. I live about 45 miles away from the closest TV stations, so I needed a strong antenna. I have been using it for about 3 months, and it works ok. I had to purchase a signal amplifier and it picks up almost all the channels that are available in my area, but I am still unable to pickup a couple. The channels that do come in are not always the best quality, and I have to turn the antenna for a few of them. I have noticed occasional interference when a vehicle drives by, but for the most part it serves its purpose. I am pleased with the antenna, but may have to invest a little more into accessories to get the optimum performance.

Great in the Fringe!
I was on the site that recommends antennas for specific locations, and I needed a big antenna probably with an amplifier. So, I found this antenna and some of the reviews weren't so positive. I gave it a shot.I receive all of the OTA stations that were mentioned as "maybe with a good antenna" and I get one of the 3 that were "not likely to receive".I recommend this antenna for anyone on the fringe. It is a big antenna, but you'll be happy with the results.
