Q: Does this shampoo contain salicylic acid 3%?

This is confusing because Selsin Blue used to just make one anti-dandruff shampoo which was 1% Selenium Sulfide. They are now making multiple products and changing a few packaging labels. But this one that has the yellow label that says Itchy Dry Scalp is 3% salicylic acid. I have been a user of Denorex for many years and it is 3% salicylic acid. It appears that Selsin Blue is now competing with Denorex for a much lower cost per ounce.

Q: I do not have dandruff but a very itchy scalp and its dry near the hairline. How good is this product with itchiness?

I use it for scalp itching. I have never had dandruff. It is really good at relieving my scalp itch. I use it every other night and after about a week the itch is gone. After the first shampoo I feel relief.

Q: Will this help control tinea versicolor?

I am not familiar with this condition so I can’t help. Sorry.

Yes, we use this on small children as you described. It's not "no tears", but it is pleasant and mild. The smell is attractive even to children.
