Ambrosia Nightrider Waterproof Reuseable Blucon

blucon nightrider is a continuous glucose monitoring (cgm) device which transmits librefreestyle sensor reading to cgm. Have purchased this device recently and started using it. Here are some pros and cons of the device.Pros:1. Continuous glucose monitoring with a lot of other features like alarm/notification for a defined range of upper and lower glucose levels.2. Glucose levels can be shared with care givers and can get notification the same as received by the user.3. Calorie intake can be tracked by clicking food images.4. Shows upwards and downwards glucose trends.5. 30 days data can be exported from mobile devices. More data can be exported using ambrosia care site credentials.6. Librefreestyle sensor or pro sensor can be activated directly through the app. NO reader required.7. Can sync with Google fit app as well.8. Replaceable cell, so can be used for a long time.9. It's waterproof, caution needed when wearing device and swimming.10. Can calibrate with reading of finger pricked blood glucose level and have the corresponding readings.Cons:1. Bulky, so difficult to care.2. Once activated through the app, the sensor reader cannot read the glucose level. Only read through the mobile app.3. Gets disconnected sometime when the location is off, the mobile device range is far away from Blucon night rider, have other glucose monitoring app etc.

The device readings are misleading. It won't match the glucometer or the Libre Reader.Post sales support is almost negligible.The device's battery lasts for 8-9 days only.Their tracking app on Iphone (LinkBlucon) is not yet approved in the App Store. Once you buy the device you will have to contact them and send your Apple's registered email address. After which they will share the link from where you can download and install the 'Test version' of the app.Caregivers can download the FollowBlucon app which will notify them whenever the patient's sugar level goes low. This is a nice feature but of no use as the readings are almost always incorrect. The app works for 2 days properly after which it starts lagging. You will have to clear your app's storage and then try again.The arm band is of poor quality and will leave bruises if worn continuously.

Pros :1. It converts libre pro in to real-time CGMS one can get real time sugar reading unlike libre reader2. It's easy to use and installation is easy3. Family member friend or doctor can also get all readings and graph provided the person using device and app is connected to internet4. Notifiactions for low sugar or high sugar makes management easy. Hypos can be predicted before they happen and could be avoided5. Arrow indication rising or falling trend of sugar so person can act accordinglyCons1. Arm band is not practical to keep device attached to libre sensor2. Two sided tape is good alternative but makes sensor plus device bulky3. On day 1 device keeps disconnecting from mobile from day 2 it's start working perfectlyOverall must have device for all on libre pro sensor I call it economical dexcom
