A Great Addition to Floor Cleaners
(Review is from my wife) I have two dogs (one with short hair, one with long) and a combination of textured porcelain tile, laminate and area rugs throughout an area of about 2500 square feet. I live in the country so the dogs track in dirt, gravel, grass bits and more, plus they chew on things that leave behind debris every day. After a lot of experimenting, for me what works best now for daily pick-ups is:1. Sweep the laminate and tile with a Rubbermaid Reveal Mop that I leave dry and push forward like a push broom. The microfiber pad does a fine job of gathering the hairs, dirt, dust, etc. into a pile and I collect it in a dust pan. The pad gets dirty, but I brush it off into the trash, ready for next time. (For spots, I can also use this moist too, and I can wash the pads as needed).2. Grab my Hoky PR3000 and a spray bottle of water, and working in sections, spray a light mist over the area of the rug to be swept. It turns out that by using just a little water, the Hoky picks up about 5 times what it did dry. Using it dry, it picked up debris just fine, but left a good bit of fine dog hair behind. Using a mist of water lets the hairs clump together into hairballs that the Hoky can collect, and the few that it doesn't are easily gathered up by hand. I don't always need to use water: Just when I notice the hairs aren't coming up. As other reviewers said, this model, with the rubber fins, is so much easier to clear out because it doesn't have a brush roller to get tangled up with hairs, so it works well day after day after day.I'll still use the vacuum from time to time because I need to get into awkward or tight places, do the drapes, stuff like that, but this combination of Reveal Mop and Hoky gets the floors tidy in about 30 minutes, and is very quiet (compared to a vacuum and/or a battery powered sweeper) and easy to do, so the house looks fresh every day instead of just the day I vacuum.Oh, and one more tip: I waxed the base's top (with Behold spray wax) and now the static created from sweeping doesn't cause dust to coat the outside.

Great product.
My mother loves her Hoky. She had one years ago. We were so happy to find they still make this product.I may soon be buying another for myself. Excellent performance on hard floors and carpet. Use this daily and a traditional vacuum when deeper cleaning is needed. LOVE love the Hoky. Highly recommend this product. Others cannot stand up to this sweeper.

Pleased with Hokey Sweeper
I read many, many customer reviews on various manual sweepers before buying the Hoky manual sweeper. I eventually purchased the Hoky sweeper for three reasons: 1. Wider pick-up brush than other comparible brands, 2. Rubber sweep roller, and 3. High % of favorable reviews. The price was higher that most of the other manual sweepers, but I decided to go for it. We live on the Oregon coast where pine needles walk in the front door every time we do. The hoky stands by the door and we use it often. It picks up the needles from our entry carpet quickly, easily, and thoroughly. We are very pleased with this purchase!!

Worth the money?
Was really excited to receive the Hoky sweeper. It came today and I immediately tried it out. Seems to pick up really well on a low pike carpet and my runners...but did not pick up on my tile kitchen floor. Would not pick up anything. Just left it behind or pushed the dirt forward. I had a few pine needles and some pieces of leaves and it would not pick it up. I have a dog and it would not pick up the dog hair. Even tried what one of the other customers did...she recommended spraying the carpet lightly with a mister filled with water. She said it would pick up the hair, but it didn't. Also, disappointed that it would not fit under my furniture, so would have to move the furniture to pick up any debris that had fallen under a coffee table or chair. Really disappointed, will probably return it for a refund.

Hoky PR3000- great for home, great for work
These carpet sweepers are great. I use them at home & work.At work, crushed popcorn is like velcro on low pile carpet. Sweeping is effective but time consuming. These sweepers do an amazing job.At home, my kids love using it. They now clean their room & living room just to use it, because I won't let them use it for anything else.Emptying them is easy. The beater bar is also easily removed and cleanable with warm water. (clean the beater bar often, it gets filthy.)I just wish it had a wider cleaning path.

Awesome for short floors and 2 year olds.
Glad I spent the couple of extra bucs for the Hokey and it's patented rubber pic up brushes and the two large collection pans. Works perfect on our short carpets cleaning up typical messes a two year old boy would make. No Pets, sorry no help there. I know I sounded like the commercial in the beginning but I really am glad I did not go with the other brands.

Hands Down The Best Sweeper!
Hoky makes the best quality carpet sweepers. Mine gets a lot of use in a commercial setting. After about 3 of years I usually need to buy a new brush for it (also available on Amazon), then I replace it with a whole new sweeper after 5 or 6 years. For home use it should last a long time.
